New Mexico is known for the southwestern feel and dry heat. New Mexico solar power is also becoming a popular alternative in this state. Now this state is also known for some great food. There are some great restaurants that a person should check out in New Mexico.

Antiquity Restaurant

This is a rustic place that has been around for around 50 years. It is an old adobe building but it has that southwestern charm. A person can get some great steak and seafood here. They can also enjoy Australian lobster and slowly grilled chateaubriand.

Jambo Café

This restaurant serves up traditional African food. There is a large menu with curry items as well as many different types of stews. Some of the best dishes to try here are the goat stew and the Moroccan chicken kabobs.

High Noon Restaurant and Saloon

This is great for people that want to dine in a place with local history. The building is 230 years old and is said to have its ghost in the house. This place serves up southwestern flavors. Some of the best things to try include the ribeye with a wine demi-glace and braised short ribs with a BBQ peach sauce. A person should also try a margarita when they are there.

The Artichoke Café

This is for people that like a creative take on classic foods. This establishment is up-and-coming, and they take new health trends and mix it with classic dishes. Some notable dishes include the roasted chicken breaks with gorgonzola bread pudding and the elderberry cured halibut.

The Range Café

The restaurant is now decorated to look modern inside but still has the traditional items including the wood beams and kiva fireplaces. The menu has global food, and there are dishes from all over the country. People recommend the tellicherry rubbed elk tenderloin and spice-rubbed game hen. A person can even get Maine lobster here in the middle of the desert.

Luminaria

This restaurant is located at the Boutique Inn and Spa. It has a classy menu and is great for those that enjoy fine dining. There are works by Native Americans and there are even seats in the garden. Award-winning chef Marc Quinones brings his upscale take to his establishment. He uses local foods to serve and to impress the guests. The flank steak is one of the best in the area.
