If you've been looking for a cause to get out and try something new in your area, this month offers plenty to savour, including the inauguration of new restaurants in India, as well as updated menus and novel dining concepts. Save these places to eat at or order from this month, from modern bakeries and Indian speciality coffees to modern Indian and Pan-Asian snacks.

Mumbai

TwentySeven Bakehouse

The most recent endeavour of restaurateur Aditi Dugar is a bright takeaway place that is situated close to Masque in a former cotton mill. Pastry chef Rachelle Andrade competently oversees the kitchen at TwentySeven Bakehouse, which features a rotating selection of breads, cakes, and viennoiseries. The long-established baking tradition of Tel Aviv, Israel, served as inspiration for Dugar and her colleagues during their excursions there. There are delicious cookies like Israeli florentines, fuss-free cakes like Gondhoraj lemon and poppy seed cake and carrot cake with Malta cream cheese frosting, as well as moreish croissants with za'atar, tapenade, and cream cheese twists. The signature croissant cube will also come with a different filling every month. The tiramisu-flavored cubes should be purchased as soon as they become available.

Project Hum

This farm-to-fork, fast-casual restaurant that prides itself on democratising clean food with a heavy emphasis on sustainable, local, and organic products has debuted in Bandra by a trio of friends. The restaurant sources its ingredients from a network of farmers in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka and celebrates them with "farmer of the month" spotlights so that you can be sure exactly where your food is coming from. The cheerful area is decorated in earthy tones with vibrant pops of peach and saffron. The menu offers clean foods such salads with regionally inspired dressings like curry leaf or sol kadi vinaigrette, healthy wrap trays, artisanal sandwiches, filling bowl dinners, smoothies, dessert toasts, and more.

Love Crumbs by The Lovefools

Chef Sarita Pereira, who owns the experimental restaurant The Lovefools, recently collaborated with chef Aniket Sawant to open a new bakery on the same property. Glass cases brimming with baked goods may be found, including Japanese pull-apart buns, Danish Kerala beef chilli fry, Kashmiri brioche naan with yakhni curry, and brunost brioche with truffle mushroom beurre blanc. The menu at the well-known fine-dining restaurant famous for its modern Indian food has recently undergone a redesign by chefs Himanshu Saini, a recipient of numerous awards, and Sarfaraz Ahmed. The new 14-course degustation menu features a blend of flavours from all corners of the nation. Enjoy consuming works of art that are presented with a variety of sensory experiences. Consider dishes like slow-cooked lamb and nihari curry, butternut ravioli with sage pesto and palak patta, dal vada with carrot kanji and black lime pickle, raw banana varuval with coconut lassi and curry leaf chutney, and the most well-known dish—khichdi presented in an upscale manner. The Volt, the menu's aptly named current offering from chef Rohit Chadha, features powerful flavours and modern Asian cuisine. Enjoy mouthwatering dishes like avocado tartare served in cornets, plump dim sums, ranging from a traditional crystal vegetable dim sum to a decadent lobster, garlic, and chive pouch topped with caviar, a variety of sushi and sashimi, as well as specialty dishes like lotus leaf wrapped rice, Singapore chilli crab, and crispy, aromatic Peking duck, while taking in the sea views. The well-known American restaurant brand just opened its first location in Mumbai at Palladium, Lower Parel. The menu features a variety of pancakes, crepes, waffles, griddles, and savoury plates such sandwiches, quesadillas, and wraps along with numerous vegetarian alternatives. The restaurant is most renowned for its stacks of buttermilk pancakes and comforting meals. The silky milkshakes and smoothies are worth trying.

Sorrentina—truffle menu

This recently released menu from Sorrentina is for you if you adore all things truffle. A variety of meals inspired by truffles are available on the specifically crafted "magnificanza del tartufo" menu, which uses freshly imported Tuscan truffles from Italy. This ingredient is the star of the show in everything from an umami-rich truffled olive burrata to the truffled sando, pizzas with black truffle shavings, and decadent pasta tossed in truffle butter sauce. To complete the indulgence, serve a bottle of Prosecco with your meal.

For an exclusive dessert menu, the plant-focused restaurant has partnered with dietician Simran Bapu, who is well-known for her nutritious baked goods. For a guilt-free treat, pick from a variety of vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free options such Belgian chocolate cake, tiramisu opera, cookie dough sundaes, and sugar-free cookies.

Aafreen - Inspired Indian, The Westin Pune Koregaon Park

Pune is seeing a significant gastronomic change. This elegant modern Indian restaurant, which has just opened at The Westin Pune Koregaon Park, is the newest addition to the city's fine-dining scene. Chef Vikram Khatri's menu, which features dishes like paneer tikka carpaccio, edamame and sweet potato chaat, tandoori Kerala prawns, and achari pig ribs, among other creative fare and handmade cocktails, delivers traditional flavours with a contemporary twist. This new restaurant in Pune, which bills itself as a cocktail society where like-minded people can enjoy handmade cocktails and unique gastronomy, is all about emphasising craft beverages. 12 distinct cocktails with natural sweeteners and locally found ingredients are offered on the small menu. Examples include Shrikhand liquor, Kolhapuri chilli, bhakarwadi, thecha, and seabuckthorn. Martini in a Trolley experiences, which provide variations of this classic cocktail, heighten the tension. The culinary selection offers dishes including sourdough tartines, pig belly with pomegranate glaze, Georgian khachapuri, jackfruit doughnuts, and other snacks.

In the centre of Lutyens' Delhi, this eco-friendly café is a recent addition to the city's dining scene. It has floor-to-ceiling windows, Japanese and Nordic design features, and expertly combines traditional aspects with modern accents. Seasonal produce is the main focus of the menu, which also features GMO-free meat, cage-free eggs, farm-to-cup speciality coffee from Marc's Coffees (Auroville), as well as an on-site Parisian-style bakery. Sevilla has introduced a new menu with a number of unique dishes that features its stunning indoor-outdoor environment and Spanish-inspired cuisine. You can have dishes such ravioli Misti di mare, Sevilla seafood medley, gamberi pizza, as well as traditional paella, tapas, and antipasti. For dessert, there is pain perdu and a hazelnut flower bed.

TKYO

TKYO is a brand-new Pan-Asian restaurant with a bar, a kitchen, and a bakehouse all under one roof in the Sunshine State. A 100-year-old Portuguese house houses the restaurant-bar, which offers both indoor and outdoor dining options. You're greeted with a traditional tori entryway, a sake barrel wall, and an island bar in the shape of a pagoda, all of which were inspired by Japanese design. Famous mixologist Yangdup Lama created the bar menu, which features Asian flavours, while the food is a fusion of dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, the Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, and China. Popiah rolls, crispy butter prawns, coconut seafood stew, matcha choux bun, and others are signature dishes.

Forno Tinto, Novotel Goa Resort & Spa

In this recently opened casual dining establishment with views of lush paddy fields, Italian and Goan food are combined. Forno (oven) and Tinto (village marketplace) are the names of the restaurant, and chef Alex Dias offers a variety of fusion flavours. Pizzas that are hand-stretched and topped with Goan cafreal, Goan village salad, kokum panna cotta, and chocolate salami are available.

Bengaluru

Nerlu Café

By providing a platform to independent coffee roasters that lack real storefronts or locations to present their coffee, this modern coffee shop wants to promote and celebrate artisanal Indian coffees. Through their "coffee exploration menu," Nerlu, which in Kannada means "shade" or "shadow," seeks to highlight small and medium-sized roasteries. Customers can select from a changing menu of 10 unique coffees that is updated every two weeks. If you like their coffee, you may also place an order directly with the roaster. A house bakery serves cookies, cakes, and light fare. The café is also pet-friendly.

Kolkata

Masters of Marriott Bonvoy x Culinary Culture — Indian Accent pop up

One of the most well-known restaurants in the nation, the Delhi-based Indian Accent, run by famous chef Manish Mehrotra, is opening in Kolkata for the first time ever. Indian Accent will exclusively serve three dishes on September 24 (lunch) and September 25 (lunch and supper) with restricted seating at the JW Marriott Hotel Kolkata. A unique tasting menu with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, as well as some of the restaurant's famous dishes, will be available for guests to sample.
