The Starbucks Iced Apple Crisp Macchiato is a seasonal drink, but we find the taste so good we want to enjoy it all year round. As much as we want to buy one every time we see it on the menu board, it could be budget-breaking for us. We would rather save money and make our own instead of spending as much as $6 for a drink.

Here is a delicious homemade recipe for the tasty Starbucks Apple Crisp Macchiato:

Recipe for the Starbucks Apple Crisp Macchiato

Ingredients :

To make the apple syrup

Apple juice

Brown sugar

Cinnamon sticks

Nutmeg

Chopped apple

Lemon juice

Salt

To make the simple syrup (unflavored)

Brown sugar

Water

To make the Macchiato

Espresso

Milk

To Make the apple syrup:

Directions:

1. In a saucepan, combine the apple juice and brown sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar.

2. Add cinnamon sticks and grate some nutmeg onto the top of mixture. Bring this to a boil over medium heat until it starts to thicken, about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. If it begins to splatter, reduce the heat. Remove from heat and cool before refrigerating.

To make the simple syrup (unflavored):

Directions:

1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to low and add brown sugar. Stir until dissolved, about 5 minutes. Cool completely before using.

To make the Macchiato:

1. Fill a glass with crushed ice and set it aside.

2. Combine espresso and milk in a medium bowl and whisk to combine (or use an immersion blender). Drizzle in simple syrup, if desired. Pour the espresso mixture over the ice and serve immediately.

You can make your own espresso but you can also just purchase store-bought cold brew instead.

What makes the Starbucks Apple Crisp Macchiato taste so good?

The apple syrup and the apple crisp on top of the Macchiato are what make this beverage taste so good. If you don't want to make your own, we recommend that you purchase (or find) a similar tasting syrup and add it into your Macchiato for instant gratification!

Notes: You can also customize this recipe with your own flavors.

Variations: Add less ice for a slushy version, or more ice cubes for a diluted drink.

You can use any kind of apple juice you like. We usually buy organic apple juice with no sugar added so the taste will be purely from apples. You can buy it at the regular supermarket or make your own if you have an apple tree in your backyard. Or, purchase organic apples and juice the apples yourself.

How to Make Cold Brew Coffee

By Jacob Bentzinger on Unsplash

What You'll Need:

1 cup coarsely ground coffee beans

2 1/4 cups cold water, divided

1. Combine the ground coffee and 1 cup cold water in a large jar or French press. Stir until combined, then cover and let sit at room temperature overnight (or at least 8-10 hours).

2. Pour the coffee mixture into a fine-mesh sieve and press down to extract as much liquid as possible. Pour remaining 1/4 cup cold water into the coffee grounds and stir to combine, then let sit for 5 minutes. Press again with a spatula or spoon to extract as much liquid as possible.

3. Pour the cold brew into a jar or bottle and refrigerate until ready to use. It will keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Makes about 32 oz coffee concentrate, depending on how strong you like your coffee!

Starbucks Iced Coffee Frappuccino Recipe

1 cup cold brew coffee concentrate (see above)

3/4 cup milk, divided

2 tablespoons granulated sugar, or to taste

chocolate syrup (optional)

whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

1. Combine ice and cold brew in a blender. Blend on high for about 10 seconds or until smooth.

2. Pour half the mixture into a glass and combine with 3 tablespoons milk, sugar to taste, and blend again. Repeat for a second serving.

3. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top of each drink if desired and top with whipped cream if desired! Enjoy!!

Notes: You can also customize this recipe with your own flavors.

Variations: Make a vanilla frappuccino by omitting the chocolate syrup and increasing milk to 1 cup.

You can buy some ready-made cold brew at your local Starbucks store if you don't want to make your own! Or, purchase organic coffee beans, coarsely grind them yourself (coarse ground coffee is generally preferred for cold brew anyway), and follow the above instructions to make your own cold brew.
