My Personal Nacho Recipe

Nachos ready to enjoy!

We’ve all had nachos before and there are lots of variations on them (lots of these are seen in restaurants). However, I’d like to share my personal nacho recipe. The ingredients consist of chips, shredded cheese, grated parmesan, pepper, olive oil, butter, and a red onion. As for cooking equipment, you’ll need one pan, one kitchen knife, a cutting board, a spatula, oven mitts, and one baking sheet. (You might need an extra baking sheet depending on how much you want to prepare and how many people you are serving).

Recipe Instructions:

While completing the following instructions, set your oven for 350 degrees.

The first step is to lay out the chips across the baking sheet(s). Next, spread the shredded cheese across all the chips. Then, sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese onto the chips. After this, turn your attention to the red onion. Peel off the outside of the onion, place it on the cutting board, and use your kitchen knife to cut it into numerous small pieces. Then, place the pan on the stove and turn the stove on to a medium-high heat level. Once the pan heats up, place a small amount of olive oil in it and allow it to move around inside the pan. Next, add a small portion of butter and allow it to spread around in the pan as well. After the butter has melted, pour the sliced red onions into the pan. Use your spatula to flip and stir the onions around until they have a brownish look on them.

As soon as the onions are finished, spread them evenly across all the chips. Then, sprinkle the pepper over the chips. After the oven has reached 350 degrees, open the oven door, carefully place the baking sheet(s) into the oven, and close the oven door. Set a timer for at least 4 minutes and check on your nachos after this. Allow for more baking time as needed. Once the nachos are done, put on oven mitts, open the oven door, carefully pull the baking sheet(s) out of the oven, place the sheet(s) on the stove, and close the oven door. At this stage, they are ready to eat. Enjoy!

Additional Notes:

Cooking can seem like a difficult task. While the above instructions may seem very complicated, it will all feel simple after preparing this entree. The time it takes to prepare this should be somewhere around 15 to 20 minutes. My hope is that this will be a simple and fun recipe that you can make to treat yourself. Personally, I like to treat myself to this after a week of working. It’s a nice treat to enjoy while relaxing on a Friday night. Other ingredients you can add as options include green onions and salt. The green onions provide a nice looking garnishment to the nachos which also tastes good. As for salt, this can help add to the overall flavor, but I would limit how much salt you add to the entree if you decide to sprinkle some onto the chips.

Upon my first time eating nachos using this recipe, I didn’t think that it would be extremely filling. However, after eating one plate full of them, I felt very full. I think that the red onion really contributed to this. Otherwise, without the red onion, the nachos just have cheese and pepper. Depending on how much you prepare and how many people are eating them, you might have enough for one additional meal. In this scenario you can simply microwave the leftovers for around 30 seconds and enjoy. I encourage you to try the recipe described above. I hope you like it as much as I enjoy it.
