Ingredients

  • 1 pork ribs (full rack)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Dry rub of choice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Place ribs on a large baking sheet, rub with olive oil and season with salt and pepper, or a rub (if using).
  • Cook ribs in the oven for about 2 1/2 hours, or until meat inside is no longer pink.
  • Preheat grill to high and transfer ribs to grill.
  • Cook for 10-15 minutes on each side with the lid closed for maximum smokiness. Flip halfway through cooking each side if necessary to prevent too much charring.
  • Brush a thick layer of sauce on the top side, cook for 5 minutes, then flip brush a layer on the other side and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Remove ribs from grill and transfer to a cutting board. Brush on a final layer of sauce and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
  • Slice into individual ribs and serve.

Recipe 2: Slow Cooked Crockpot Ribs

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp Paprika
  • 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Black Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 6 lbs Baby Back Ribs, cut into sections with backs removed
  • 2 sliced Onions
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 bottle Barbecue Sauce

Instructions

  • Add the paprika, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to a bowl and mix all ingredients together. Add the mixture to the ribs and make sure to rub the mixture well into all sides of the ribs.
  • Cover the inside of a crock pot with cooking spray. Add some of the onions at the bottom of the crock pot and place some of the ribs on top. Keep repeating the same process until all the ingredients are used up. Add the water on top and place a lid on the crock pot. Cook the ribs on low heat for 7 hours. Ribs should be very tender when they are done cooking.
  • Afterwards, remove the ribs from the crock pot and place them on a plate. Remove any extra liquids and onions. Place the ribs back into the crock pot and add the barbecue sauce on top. Make sure that every part of the ribs is fully covered with the barbecue sauce. Place a lid on the crock pot and cook the ribs for another hour.
