The Pule tree or its foreign name (Alstonia Scholaris), is a shrub or small tree native to tropical Asia. This tree is an annual plant that grows on the islands of Java and Sumatra. This plant has wide oval leaves and a shiny green color.

Pulee tree flowers vary in color, including white, greenish cream, slightly white, yellow, and cream. But what is clear is that the fragrance is so strong that it smells good. The fruit is green, but turns brown when ripe. The puree tree has many small, flat, tufted seeds.

This plant has the following health benefits:

1. To cure prolonged fever

The pule tree contains the active compounds ditamine, echitanine and echitamine which can be used as malaria drugs. These compounds can help lower body temperature and relieve fever symptoms.

2. Prevent obesity and lower cholesterol

The leaves and bark of the pule tree contain the compounds betulin and lupeol acetate which can help reduce weight and cholesterol levels. These compounds can help increase the body's metabolism and reduce fat absorption.

A study conducted in Tamil Nadu, India in the Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, showed that extracts of the leaves and bark of the pule tree have antiparasitic activity against Plasmodium falciparum (the deadliest malaria parasite that infects humans).
