My Favorite Chocolate Sweets from Trader Joe's

Trader Joe’s has plenty of gems you can’t find anywhere else. Something I love about the store is how everyone seems to have different favorites; I even asked my family for their favorite overall items from there and nobody had any repeats.

As there are so many categories of products to choose from, this list specifically ranks my top chocolate picks, ranging from childhood treats to recent discoveries. If I missed your favorite chocolatey treat from Trader Joe's, please recommend it in the comments— I would love to try something new!

Honorable Mentions:

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

This is an honorable mention because I wouldn't necessarily classify it as a "chocolatey treat," but rather a bakery item with chocolate in it. I love these— I used to have one with chocolate milk before school, and I don’t even like bananas!

Chocolate Whipped Cream

This gets an honorable mention because it is a great addition to so many other treats. It’s a fairly new item and I have been putting it on everything: ice cream, brownies, strawberries and more. For me, it's a total upgrade from regular whipped cream.

5. Brownie Crisp Coffee Ice Cream Sandwich

These are delicious, but a little pricey. These are coffee ice cream sandwiched between two thin brownie pieces. Coffee and brownie are two great flavors that complement each other well. I do wish the brownie pieces were a bit thicker to achieve an even chocolate-to-coffee ratio, but that’s just a personal preference.

4. Brookie Caramel Candy Clusters

These are very sweet and perfect if you need to fulfill a craving. They are caramels coated in melted chocolate with crunchy brownie and cookie pieces. If you couldn't tell by now, I have a bit of a sweet tooth, so these hit the spot. Just be sure to keep them at room temperature so they don’t get too hot and melt together!

3. Mini Ice Cream Cones

Trader Joe's has a few flavors of these, but my favorites are the Coffee (seasonal for summer), Peppermint (seasonal for winter), and the classic Chocolate. They are the perfect size for a small sweet fix, and you get eight in a box. Some flavors have a chocolate cone while others use a regular waffle cone, but they always have that extra hard-shell chocolate at the bottom for the perfect last bite.

2. Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich

My favorite dessert is a macaron, so I make sure to savor every bite that I have. These are a bit pricey and only 2 come in a box, so I try to have them occasionally now. Macaron shells are perfect and the chocolate ice cream is super tasty. Just make sure to let them thaw for 5 minutes if taking them straight out of the freezer, or they are hard to eat!

1. Mini Dark Chocolate Mint Stars

The mint stars are only available during the winter time, but they are my absolute favorite. To me, these are a better version of the Girl Scout's Thin Mint cookies. I like the non-pareils on top, I like how small each cookie is, and I love how strong the mint flavor is. Mint/chocolate is my favorite flavor, and I know that I am in the minority when I say that mint flavored items are never minty enough and these are perfect everytime. For any people who don't like mint, there is also a version of these without it available all year round.

I love Trader Joe's products, more than just their chocolatey treats, but these are my favorites from there. I hope they keep coming out with more awesome new products!
