Summertime Fun Foods
There are many exciting foods that come to mind when we think of summer! The “top 5 summertime” foods include Hot Dogs, Corn on the cob, Ice cream, Lobster, and Potato salad! We often enjoy these fun foods when we visit State fairs, pack a picnic meal, or take an afternoon stroll with family and friends! It is a time to indulge our taste buds while shedding the many layers of clothing we used to protect us from the cold elements of winter.

In the scorching summer heat my babcia used to send me to school with coconut oil in my hair and jams in my lunchbox. I had the thickest mop of dark russet hair in my class. Now when I'm older I'm grateful to those regimes, but nobody would sit with me in class and till fourth grade the seat beside me remained desolately empty.
Summer food
I don’t have one particular favourite food, lots of things taste so good, but I really enjoy cooking over a fire. Especially in the summer. My family and I eat outside and enjoy our meal under the setting sun.
Watermelon fruit basket
Summer is here!! So why not share one of my most favorite summer fruit obsession food with you. Eating just a plain slice of watermelon can be nice on a hot summer day at a family cookout, but how cool would it be to create a whole watermelon carved bowl with some of your other favorite fruits inside.
Where are you eating tonight?
The sad thing about winter? Picnics are hanging out with the bears and the groundhogs. Five months of slumber party, without the party. And a long five months it is.

Not to be dramatic. But my summers were ruined for a while. My favorite summer nosh became tainted. Tainted I tell you. They were summer family barbecues and my big brother's baseball games.
Cara LabanPublished 2 years ago in FeastI Would Eat Them in a House and with a Mouse
Initially, when I think of summer, I think of a beach barbeque. I think of hot dogs, watermelon, pasta salad and even baked beans. As delicious as all of those foods are, they do not bring up the same level of nostalgia. Feelings are important when it comes to describing a food that brings you joy. When the smell, taste or look of a food can send you back down memory lane, it just adds to the satisfaction. The reasons why the foods I listed above do not do that, is because we continue to use them for many occasions outside of a breezy summer barbeque. For instance, Thanksgiving food has all the hype because we typically wait a whole year to eat all those traditional thanksgiving dishes. The wait and the anticipation is why our mouths water every year. This is why I decided to talk about a food that I rarely eat, that is green eggs and ham.

Having finally grown out of the childhood stage of grubby fingers in packs of candy and popsicles, I have come to hate the sticky sensation of eating sweets that clings to my hands and transfers to any surface I brush in the slightest. Even after eating the finest of desserts. But today? Today was different.

Like most people ya girl likes to eat food all year round, but in the warmer seasons I don't like to eat just any food. Alright you got me! Hi I'm Jessica and well I love all foods equally regardless of season, but let me tell you that the best foods in my opinion for summer are the cold ones. Like hear me out; summer is like totally super hot, and cold foods like ice cream are like not. Pretty convincing argument if your like me and always looking to beat the heat every summer.
Wolf_of_ FrostPublished 2 years ago in FeastSummer is for Strawberries
I love Strawberries, but only in the summer. Off-season, store-bought strawberries can’t compare to a basket bought at a farmers market, fresh from the fields.

The people who give you their food give you their heart. - Cesar Chavez Summer camp for me was my home away from home for a week during July. Where every year friends that I only saw at camp came together on the shores of the James River to hangout, play and learn. To say I was excited to go every year would be an understatement.

I'm from Florida. Honestly, I think I could stop there and everyone would understand. Anyone who has ever met a Floridian will know where this is going. We are not known for having a cool climate, but for our almost desert heat combined with a level of humidity that resembles a rain forest. In fact, just the other day the high temperature was 93 degrees (but felt like 105) with 65% humidity. What a nightmare, right?
