To reduce the body heat it is important to eat healthy food. Instead of having the monotonous fruit juices and drinks, try some delicious and healthy foods this summer. Avoid eating packed foods often and try to prepare homemade simple and healthy foods.

When you regularly add healthy foods with protein, vitamins, iron, fiber and calcium to your regular diet your body will be healthy. Healthy food that is taken in a right quantity will boost your immune system and fight against the foreign bodies. Make a schedule for yourself and have the healthy foods like carrot, watermelon, strawberry, cucumber, broccoli etc on an alternative basis.

Take a watermelon, remove all the seeds and add some sugar and grind it; add the watermelon juice to the Popsicle mold (if available) or a tumbler and put an ice cream stick, and keep it in the freezer for a few hours and its ready to eat; you can make popsicles with any favorite fruit of your choice like mango, orange, etc.

Vegetable popsicles

Take a carrot grate and grind it well, now filter the juice, add some sugar and water pour the juices into the Popsicle mold, and keep it in the freezer for 5 hours.

2. Vetiver root sherbet

Vetiver root water is an excellent natural antioxidant and alkalizer; vetiver gives instant relief for constipation and helps in clearing intestinal tract and bowel movements. You can add vetiver roots, Tulasi leaves to a pot of water and drink as it gives a refreshing flavor without sweetness.

Take one liter of water, wash one cup of vetiver roots, and soak it overnight (for at least 10 hours); strain it and add 3 tbsp of jaggery, boil it, and reduce to half; store the mix in a bottle.

To make sherbet, a glass of water; add a few drops of lemon juice and some salt, and add 2 tbsp of the mix and some ice cubes if you want it to be cold.

Basil seeds are soaked in water for 4 to 5 hours and then consumed by adding lemon juice or any tastier beverage; you can also make a smoothie, pudding, soup, etc., using basil seeds.

Add some buttermilk, chopped shallots, chilies, and coriander. Serve it cool by keeping it in the refrigerator.

Kambu koozh/ Pearl millet porridge

Pearl millet is rich in protein, fiber, iron, and vitamins. It prevents anemia. Take the pearl millet in a vessel, rub it, and soak it for 30 minutes.

To make pearl millet porridge, add the millet to a pressure cooker for four whistles, simmer the flame for 2 minutes, and add some salt. Then add water to the cooked pearl millet, curd, green chilies, salt, and shallots. Mix well and serve.

8. Ice apple and tender coconut juice

Ice apple and tender coconut are the best combos to keep your body cool on a sunny day and reduce your body heat. Ice apple is helpful in skin inflammation issues like heat boils and rashes. It cures constipation, bloating, nausea, and other digestive problems.

To make iced apples and coconut water juice, add three iced apples, coconut water, and the coconut inside the tender coconut; then add some sugar and serve it.
