You probably caught onto this article because you were hoping to find some food hacks and ideas that could help make preparing food a lot easier no matter if you are making dinner for your family or for guests at your next party, am I right?

Well you are in the right place. In this article, I am going to show you ten simple food hacks and tricks that you can literally take with you anywhere you go whether you are celebrating at an event or just making something for your family and friends at home. Let's begin!

1. Make your own chips and dip bowl.

Take out a large, glass mixing bowl in your kitchen and put it at the center of your table. Next, take a wine glass and place it in the center of the bowl. Then, put your favorite chips inside the bowl surrounding the wine glass. Finally, pour your favorite dip inside the wine glass. Voila! Now you have your own chips and dip bowl for your next lounge party or seasonal event.

2. Peel a potato FAST!

You can easily peel a potato by making a thin slice with your knife around the middle of it. Then, boil them as normal. Once it's finished boiling, drain the potatoes in a colander and cool them down with some cold water. Then you should be able to peel the skin off the potato with your hands without using any tools.

3. Add a vegetable stock cube to your cooked rice.

Are you wanting to cook some rice but looking to add some flavor to it? You can add a vegetable stock cube to the rice while you are cooking it. It adds some nice flavor to it and you are getting some veggie goodness in there as well.

4. Put your leftover cooking wine in an ice cube tray.

Is your bottle of cooking sherry almost gone taking up space in your refrigerator? Pour the wine in an empty ice cube tray and place it in your freezer. The next time you are needing to put cooking wine into your favorite cooking dish, all you have to do is release however many cubes of wine you need and put them in while you cook.

5. Add kitchen paper to your next bag of salad mix.

Are you like me and always have to throw away your bag of salad mix not long after you've purchased it? I know how you feel. There's nothing like having a bag of wilted brown lettuce in your refrigerator. To avoid this next time, add some kitchen paper inside your salad mix in order to keep it fresher longer. Stick it inside the back of the bag and what will happen is the paper will draw the moisture to itself rather than moisturize your lettuce allowing your lettuce to stay fresh and green longer than it normally would.

6. Cut your cherry tomatoes FAST and all at once!

Are you in a hurry and need to cut up a bunch of cherry tomatoes for your next dinner salad? Place several on a circular plate. Grab another plate like it and put it on top of the cherry tomatoes. Then, take a knife and cut through in between both of the plates. Take the top plate off and remove the top of each cherry tomato piece. Now you have several cherry tomatoes cut in half all at once.

7. Need lemon juice? Use kitchen tongs!

Are you in need of a squeeze of lemon? A quicker way to get the juice out of one is to cut it in half and use a pair of metal kitchen tongs to put one of the halves in the middle. Squeeze the juice into a cup and it will help you get a lot of the juice out due to the tension of the tong.

8. Keep bananas fresh longer by wrapping the stems.

Tired of making banana bread because your bananas go bad rather quickly? I like making banana bread but not every time my husband wants to buy some bananas. He never eats them quick enough. So to keep them fresher LONGER, simply wrap the top of your banana stems with plastic wrap. As you remove a banana for eating, make sure the remaining top stems are still wrapped in plastic.

9. Use a drinking straw to remove strawberry stems.

To remove a stem from a strawberry, take a plastic drinking straw and push it from the tip of the strawberry all the way up to the top where the stem is. It will remove your strawberry stem immediately.

10. Make cookie bowls for your next dessert!

You can take a cupcake tray, turn it upside down and grease it with butter or cooking spray. Next, mold cookie dough batter over each cupcake mold. Next, put them in the oven and bake them as directed on the cookie dough instructions and there you have cookie bowls that you can put vanilla ice cream or any flavor you want inside. DELICIOUS!
