The Fourth Of July Celebration
Or is the celebration on the 2nd or 3rd
My granddaughters twelfth birthday is on the second of July. They will usually have fireworks on her birthday. She is most excited about the shopping trip to the city with her mom on the third.
Then the twenty-year-old grandson is riding a bull in a rodeo on the evening of the third of July. There will be fireworks there too. It will be his fourth ride on a bull. Not bad for someone who hasn't ridden horse since he was about four or five years old.
And finally, the National Holiday where fireworks are always apart on the fourth of July. Please be aware of how distraught fireworks make several pets. And then there are those folks who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the fireworks trigger past trauma.
We were invited to a nieces house for the fourth of July. They live on a lake and have a pontoon boat that they will go out on while fireworks are being blown off. Last year we did that with our son and his family. It was great.
We were also invited to hubby's ex-wife and kids camping trip. The ex-wife and I get along very well, and hubby will probably not be doing well enough to camp. He is recovering from ankle surgery and is not supposed to go anywhere until after he sees his surgeon on the eighth of July.
I was surprised we were invited as many holidays John's children get together with their mom. She lives alone and hosts at least three of their children for holidays. She is always there at birthdays too for the kids and grandkids.
My mothers birthday was on the third of July, and that meant that we were always there with her to celebrate. There was never a question for me, so I am sure that is true for their children as well.
The fourth of July is fly
slang for cool or impressive
I do not jive
not anything worthless or deceptive
~
It's Independence Day
A federal holiday
Commemorating
July 4, 1776 and noting
the Declaration of Independence
Establishing the United States hence
National pride and patriotism
So far little schism
~
Land of the free
some say and we
the people are
here for all, right?
So, celebrate
this country of ours
Let's not fight
This country is great
with you, me, yours and mine
all having a good time
~
Celebrate this country
of ours today and everyday
Our country needs some support
We need many a cohort
to report truth and honesty
to show love and respect
to be brave, and show humility
and share wisdom with all
That is what the seven grandfathers
taught me it means to be free in this country
~
Since the fourth of July is next Saturday, many things can happen before we get there. Hubby is doing great with his surgery ankle and leg numb from a nerve block. That will pass, so we shall see what we are able to do then.
Today, he thinks he would like to attend the rodeo for grandson's bull ride. I watched a video of his mom watching him ride. She was so nervous, that I am not sure I want to watch until it is over and he is safe and sound.
But again, time will tell. And the bull ride is on the third of July. Daughter is having a gathering at their house, for granddaughter's birthday or simply for the fourth of July.
I want to wish all family and friends a great fourth of July holiday celebration for 2026.
