Slaying Virtual School
Like many parents, when COVID-19 made its initial appearance, I was cautiously optimistic that we were looking at a Swine-flu kind of situation that would pass fairly quickly and not alter our lives so drastically. The week before Spring Break in March, I pulled all 4 of my children from public school after instinctively feeling that the outbreak was going to get out of control. The "hush hush" of the school district and the clear lack of direction from government entities, local and federal, guaranteed that my kids would not be back in classrooms for a while.

Parenting is NOT a right, it's a privilege.
Unpopular opinion: No one has the RIGHT to be a parent or to see a child just because they donated an egg or sperm. Being a PARENT is a PRIVILEGE not a RIGHT!! Just because someone can PHYSICALLY have/create a child does NOT mean they have a right to that child. I'm not talking legally here, although I am surprised this hasn't been addressed in light of all the slavery talk, but that is a topic for another post. There are so many people who should NEVER have had children at all but should definitely not be allowed near children much less raise them.

I watched the news relay and relay things to watch for, feel for, avoid, use a face cover, use hand sanitizer, you're only allowed one package of toilet paper- it's a mad house, in 2020. The fear media and people have enforced on one another is unbearable to watch, sometimes. It's like a horror flick that just. keeps. getting. worse.

Parenthood never stops
This topic is very common amongst most people who have children. The parenthood is a difficult task requiring a lot of commitments. It is a loyalty, bravery, selfless agenda to name but a few. It requires a lot of discipline and sleep deprivation. The rewards however are uncountable. When a female's egg unites with sperm, the conception of a child happens and inevitably the miraculous birth to the most precious gift one can have. This little bundle of joy changes everything, the way you think, the way you do things, the way you interact with others and so much more. The words cannot describe the joy of being a parent.

Nobody tells you how to prepare yourself for the journey to feel like “yourself” again after becoming a new mom and feeling like you have to come back to whoever that self was. Although, I still don’t feel like “myself” or who I thought myself to be, despite COVID-19 & being in the middle of a major civil rights movement, I am finally starting to feel a tiny bit of “normalcy” ONE YEAR since I found out I was pregnant. The most important year of my life.

Hazy Dreams He is beating me with his little fists, and he is screaming, and his neck is drawing back, with his mouth wide open, and the yelling is so loud, it’s hurting my ears. My hands are up, as I sit on the couch, and I catch his little body each time he crashes into me. His eyes are light, and dark, and his blonde hair is sticking up, and also, curled in, and also, sticking straight out. His hands are clean, but the toy hes had in his mouth is not, and it get slobber on me, I try to redirect him, but right now, I am an easy target. He gets up on the couch, stands at his full height, and prepares to body slam me, wrestler style. I catch him, and in a low voice begin to sing. “Amazing grace how sweet the sound,”

Sex Ed is Still Shambles
I came across this articles published by the BBC yesterday on my daily scroll on the filth that is Facebook. 'Hull school 'sorry' after pupils researched porn homework on web' - the title aptly states. Naturally, my interest is piqued. On the one hand, in the middle of a pandemic and on the brink of a financial and economic disaster this is absolutely appropriate to be reported because of the yummy-mummy outrage it must've inspired in the Northern community of Hull...Well, no. Actually on the contrary... On the other hand, if I were a 13-year old little lad starting to get into boobs, I'd say they got a happy accident for homework. If my teacher provided us with some steamy stuff I bet they could've garnered a dainty Teacher-of-the-Fucking-Century award real swiftly. Alas, they did not.
