3 Tips to Entertain Your Kids While Pregnant

Growing another child inside you can be tons of work, especially if you have other little ones to look after. If they're toddlers, they still require a lot of your attention. Even if you have older kids, it's still important to make sure they're loved and taken care of.

Entertaining your other kids is more difficult as you carry your unborn baby. The waddling, swollen ankles and morning sickness can prevent you from keeping up with your other kids and make it harder to keep them entertained. Luckily, there are some ways you can entertain your kids without tons of effort on your part.

1. Let Them Play Outside

If your kids are old enough, you can let them play outside, while you supervise them from the inside. Kick your feet up, relax and take your prenatal plus vitamins while you enjoy the view of your kids playing together. If your kids are younger and require more supervision, you can take a chair outdoors and relax your body while you watch them have fun. It's okay if you can't get out there and run with your kids. Sure, they may prefer their mom to join in on the fun, but as long as you're there with them, they'll be satisfied. Your presence is just enough for them to feel comfortable and let loose

There are so many activities your kids can enjoy while outdoors; the opportunities are almost endless. They can play with bubbles to their heart's content. A bubble machine can add even more fun to the mix because they don't have to manually blow the bubbles. The machine does it for them. This means less time blowing and more time playing and popping the bubbles.

You can also set up a picnic outside if the weather allows. Lay a blanket down and have a feast with your little ones. Serve them the foods they like and even allow them to have their favorite treats.

If you happen to be pregnant during the summer, a great way to cool off outdoors is to turn on the sprinklers and let your kids have at it. They'll love the spray of the water as they run through your yard. You can join them and cool off too. Or you could sit and watch on the sidelines. Either way, your kids will be having a blast.

2. Discover Fun Activities

If the weather isn't great and you're just not feeling the idea of going outside, you can find activities for your kids to do indoors. Let them explore their creative side through painting and drawing. You can also introduce them to some educational activities that can still be fun. For example, you can let them learn the alphabet using pictures, let them design a weather calendar that displays the seasons or design a memory game that includes sight words. Learning doesn't have to be boring. In fact, with educational activities, you can kill two birds with one stone by providing your kids with education and giving them entertainment at the same time.

3. Get Them to Help With Chores

Many kids love helping their parents, but not all kids like chores. However, teaching your kids to do chores is great for showing them the important value of getting things done around the house. The best way to introduce your kids to chores is to do so at a young age. This will not only keep them busy, but it'll also teach them an important lesson in life. Get your kids to wash dishes together, let them help you cook dinner (and desserts), or teach them to make their beds. These are the little things you can do to encourage responsible children while at the same time, entertaining them with new knowledge and concepts.

Children are a joy to behold, but not every aspect of motherhood is easy, especially when preparing to bring a newborn into the world. Luckily, you can make adjustments to make life easier.
