Colonialism in Literature
It is a widely held belief that colonialism had a hugely negative effect on the cultures taken over and altered by colonizers, and this is clearly evident in all- if not most- of Africa and some of Asia. This destruction of culture and lives by way of colonization is most readily depicted in Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness and Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart, though their perspectives of the same major events differs greatly. Heart of Darkness is from the perspective of Marlow, a man sent to the Congo from Europe, and his journey down the Congo River, while Things Fall Apart is from the perspective of a man named Okonkwo, a native of Africa and a tribe known as the Igbo. The contrast between these two perspectives gives the reader a fuller understanding of the different effects colonialism had on both societies.

Book Review of Lockers Speak
Brenda Mahler is a retired educator with 34 years’ experience. As an English teacher and administrator, she learned about the life of teens from her students as a silent observer. She values memories of the students who taught compassion, the value of overcoming challenges, and the need to compromise. Her passion for teaching grew each year as she realized the power of one person to make a difference in the lives of others. Lockers Speak allows the voices of youth to speak their truths.

Lord of Order Brett Riley 2021 ISBN: 9781945501425 (hardback) IMBRIFEX Books 437 pages "Wow, what a concept!" Brett Riley has written a novel entitled 'Lord of Order' that is to me a cross between thriller and horror along with science fiction. This is the story of what would happen if New Orleans were a prison city. 'Lord of Order' is a futurist novel that keeps things and ideas of the past. There are two to three groups in this story (Crusaders, Troublers, Conspirators). It is also a book of having faith in yourself and your ideals. The main characters of Gabriel, Hobbes, and Baudreaux, who are Crusaders/ Chief Troubler- Stransky who have a lot in common, but will need to work through their differences in themselves and New Orleans.

Poetic Intimacy
While the time span of 1960-1990 saw vast historical and cultural changes against the backdrop of women seeking equality, there is one word that can be used to describe the difference in female poetry written throughout these decades. Intimacy is the key definer of these generations. I feel that there are four poems that can specifically show how intimacy defines poetry during these eras, with a difference in intimacy through experience and definition found in each poetic generation.

American Literature
American Literature Genre Herman Northrop Frye was a controversial literature writer who was not understood for decades as an archetypal school of literary criticism member. He wrote his magisterial work Anatomy of criticism: Four Essays proceeding on the hypothesis that criticism is a structure of beliefs and knowledge in its own right. The four brilliant essays on ethical, historical, rhetorical, and archetypical criticism employ examples of global literature from times stints to the contemporary time. When comparing different book written by different authors, for example, the book Kindred by Octavia Butler and The Spook Who Sat by the Door by Sam Greenlee it is possible to understand how different genres were used to communicate unique messages during different periods of time.

Why A Beach Chase is the Perfect Back-to-School Gift
One of the clearest memories I have from preschool was kneeling on the floor, the gray carpet creating indents in my knees. A jack-in-the-box sat on the floor in front of me. I'd seen the toy in some of my favorite cartoons and had never played with one before. I turned the handle slowly, careful not to distort the song.
