COVID-19 Pandemic
Several states including California and Indiana have delayed or postponed their reopening plans after the United States recorded 50,000 new cases of COVID-19, the largest increase in one day since the epidemic began. There have been protests in several countries against the government's limited response to the Covid 19 epidemic, such as the closure of vacancies, and these protests are linked to an increase in cases.

Writing about the arts of Black Africa awakes, inevitably, a delicate predicament of equilibrium between its ethnology and aesthetics, both being equally important viewpoints.
COP 21; The Elephant in the Room
What is human effort used for – expended on? In our bid to become carbon neutral, to reduce the damage we're doing to the planet and to resolve the inequalities that render sectors of human society fatally poor (if that is actually a serious society-wide desire...) one thing is becoming clearer with every political statement and international attempt at agreement; our consumerism is the chief cause of the planet's ills.

We are not alone? “The worst thing in life is to end up with people that make you feel all alone.” — Robin William In the last century, ET (extraterrestrial intelligence) was once a popular theme across all works except, sadly, the research fields. Whatever the scientists had to say, if any, was quickly swallowed up by the aviators in “Stranger in a Strange Land” or “Star Wars”. The outer space discoveries threw more questions than answers. The pop culture deliberately kept astronomers out of the crew as they would more likely end up shackling the imagination.
Everything Happens for No Reason
John Lenon must’ve been quite surprised when he was gunned down in the streets of New York. After all, it was the end, and I’m sure he didn’t think it was okay at all.

THE UNDERGROUND MESSIAH By Jerec Velez In a large, dark cave, a green dragon crawls by. Scales dark emerald green, ancient as the Earth. It jumps and spreads its enormous bat-like wings. It glides inside the majestic cave, hitting and breaking stalactites that have been growing ever so slowly for thousands of years. It is now awake from its ancient slumber. The dragon burst out of its cave high in the cliffs above the clouds and flies steeply downward and rises back up; it stops and freezes in mid air. Jess Walker puts down the pencil next to the drawing of the green dragon. He stands back from the table and walks into the kitchen to pour himself a cup of coffee. Stretching his head from side to side Jess walks towards the front door. His left hand rises slowly to push open the front door. The door slowly opens with a view of children playing in a park across the street. They are laughing and playing. It's late Saturday morning. Exiting his apartment, Jess sits in his hammock chair on his tropical plant infested porch and reads a headline on his phone with a sad sigh on his face the headline reads,

Back in the fall of 2014, my then 3-year-old daughter ardently desired to blow off steam after preschool by running into the woods behind our apartment complex. Being tall enough to see the whole area from our back window every morning, I told her there was nothing to see. Our "backyard" consisted of a small wooded area and a marshy, muddy field separating us from I-75, the longest expanse of highway in the country. Still, having seen too many episodes of "Dora," my daughter insisted it was a “magic forest” worth exploring.
