The Electric State

Introduction

I have just watched this Netflix film and I wasn't sure what to expect, I never want to give anything away when I review a film except whether I think it is worth watching or not.

I certainly don't want to give away anything or leave spoilers.

If you watch the trailer that I have included you will get an impression of what it is about.

The Electric State

The Electric State is a huge prison for robots, after the robot wars of the early nineties. Robots were introduced to do menial tasks in the fifties but became self-aware and demanded rights.

This resulted in the war and the establishment of The Electric State.

This just sets the scene for a story of a girl's search for her brother, the friends she makes and the losses she suffers.

There is obviously an analogy with the subservience and oppression based on race and nationality, but while there are nast baddies in the film, the overall message is one of eventual reconciliation despite difficult choices.
