Things Still Not Working On Vocal
Introduction Before I launch into this, let me state that Vocal is the best digital publishing platform, bar none, in my opinion. The problem is that they do not seem to have enough people to run the company, and when they do communicate, they are excellent; since the upgrade, we have had to deal with, and are still dealing with, many issues.

Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed
Introduction When I heard Stephen King liked this, I thought I would take a look. The man has excellent taste. When I saw that the main actor was Tatiana Maslany, I knew I had to watch it. I have loved her ever since her incredible performance in "Orphan Black"

This Imperfect Day
Introduction Today is the last day of August, the final Bank Holiday of the year, so today should be one of relaxation because tomorrow work may not be. Luckily, I work in a fix ot blame environment but I am dealing with accountancy stuff, and I am not an accountant. That is by the way.

Do I Have The Time?
Introduction I love this picture that was shared by The Enchanted Booklet on Facebook here: I often feel under pressure to get things done, and usually there is no real pressure at all. I have been saddled with a major unexpected work issue that I need to fix in 48 hours, but that is my deadline, not anyone else's.

Train Dreams
The reviews were good, and it received 4 Academy Award nominations, among other awards. It was streaming, so my husband sat beside me, and we watched Train Dreams , starring Joel Edgerton. It is touted as an extraordinary story of an unremarkable life. Really, though, is any life so ordinary when we examine it closely?

The Vocal Leaderboard
Introduction The Vocal Leaderboard started off with good intentions to reward people for their work and performance on Vocal, and initially it worked, but like many of these things, people have learned how to manipulate it for their own benefit, though not always successfully.

I've written a novella!
I've accidentally written a novella. Let me explain. I wanted to write a serialised story. Vocal lends itself to this very well with the way that you can publish instantaneously and my idea was to write a seven part story, releasing a new part every day over a week so that there was no delay between chapters and the momentum was always there. It seemed like a good length.

Obsessed With Inde Navarette, Not Obsession. Runner-Up in The Most Overrated Challenge. Top Story - August 2026.
Obsession has garnered an obsession-worthy cult following from both critics and audiences alike. Not only that, but the indie project (helmed by first-time feature film director Curry Barker, a then 25-year-old with a smattering of YouTube shorts to his credit) has so far grossed over $480 million at the worldwide box office β from a meager budget of $750,000.

Reconsidering The Situation Again
Introduction This is essentially kicked off by Mark Graham, a free Vocal Creator who said he is still getting paid for reads, when a part of the Vocal announcement was that free users would no longer get paid, which I think is wrong. Mark is very supportive, and because he is getting read is bringing in new readers to the Vocal platform.
