Observations On Why We Fall Into Things

Introduction
This is just about how we can be led into a story or a book, or to buy something or watch a film, based on an initial image.
What Effect Can An Image Have?
I was considering using this picture of Mick Smith's for this story:
What would you expect from this? Does it draw you in to find out more? This sis Mick's Vocal presence:
When we walk into a book shop, there are thousands of books, but, apart from us being a fan of the author, or if we have read a favourable or unfavourable review, what makes us pick up that book and buy it? Does the cover attract us to buy it? They say you should never judge a book by the cover, but the cover may be the thing that attracts you to it, and you cannot judge it until you have read it.
I think our stories on Vocal are the same. Did you read this because of the title, the subheading, the picture or because it was by me?
A story I posted a while back got a lot of likes on Facebook, but that didn;t translate into reads. Seventy likes on Facebook, fifteen reads on Vocal:
I think they just liked the photograph and never read my poem.
Advertising selles us things by telling us a little about what they are selling, which may or may not be accurate.
I tend to buy music based on what I've heard, recommendations and album sleeves are a minor part of that, but if I record has a great sleeve, I will admire it.
Conclusion
We are influenced at times by first sight, like love at first sight, but we can only judge anything when we get to truly know it.
Thank you so much for reading.
The appropriate music is "Her Come The Judge" by Pigmeat Markham because we are all judges.
