When Capon was sentenced , he thought he will never get out, and before getting to jail he started hiding his money everywhere.

Al Capon organize crime famously dominated the city of Chicago in the 1920, murder, corruption, prostitution, arm robberies, and more. But he didn't go down for all that. He got eleven years for tax evasion.

Elliot Ness, a federal agent who commanded a gang of police known as "The Untouchables," was one of Capone's fiercest foes and a fierce rival. But it was tax evasion charges that eventually stayed and put Capone in jail in 1931 after Ness and his men broke up Capone's bootlegging companies.

Capone started serving his sentence in the US Penitentiary in Atlanta, but he was accused of manipulating the system and receiving preferential treatment.

After a short standing in Atlanta he was schedule to be transfer to Alcatraz which was known in 1934 to 1963 as a federal prison for some of the most dangerous prisoners .

Now every prisoners who've been sent to Alcatraz walk the main road when they first arrive, Except Capon . The Police was so nervous because some of his associate was trying to break him out .

So they put him in train car, from Atlanta to San Francisco , they didn't even let him out they pack the the train car with bars and transport it to the island .

After his release from prison he was diagnose with dementia and his net worth. Capon become very isolated and lonely, his heath got even worse , he died in 1947 at age 48 in his house in Miami.

Where's Al Capon money ?

On the pick of his power Capon Organization was making a tone of money , like 150 million dollars a year that the equivalence of over 2 billion in todays money .

But Capon Couldn't Invest his money like regular people, he was a criminal . He tried to find ways to hide his money from the police , to avoid getting caught and send to jail or his money getting seized by the feds .

Capon was living a lavish life style and all his possession and belongings were paid in cash $ .

When Capon was sentenced , he thought he will never get out, and before getting to jail he started hiding his money everywhere like in :

- Safe deposit boxes in Cuba.

- Private own land in the USA and Canada.

And because he didn't trust anyone he never talk about the detail of his plan.

Now Diane Capone, 77, the second of Al Capone’s four granddaughters claim that when she went to Alcatraz she learned that the employees there were ejecting Capon with mercury , at the time they thought mercury was a treatment to cure syphilis.

These injections completely deteriorated his body causing more and dangerous health problem for him . Then he got diagnose with Dementia , and by the time he got out his heath and mental state got even worse .

Because of his dementia , he forgot all the safe codes and locations where he hide the money .

The money still out there but no one knows where it is.
