This is a true story coming to you from Chi Ori Publishing Company, LLC©.

The story takes place in Palo Alto, California, not too far from Stanford University. Where Bronx relocated from Manhattan, N.Y. to work as Tape Librarian, who was getting off from work at midnight. Bronx's only means of transportation was her bike, which she enjoyed riding until something negative happened to her…

4 men in a Jeep pulled up next to her in the bike lane and threw ice Beer on her. She was stunned and shocked by their action, suddenly laughing at her while she cycled as fast as she could to get away and hide going into the dark. Thank goodness she was raised in the Bronx and not frightened as her survival skills kicked in for her to immediately hide from them, while she gathered her plans to safely escape, just in case they wanted to grab her and harm her for the sole purpose of their pleasures of a fun time.

So, she stayed hidden for some time, before leaving that hiding spot. Listening to make sure she did not hear anything, such as movement, noises, or their vehicle. She stayed still for like 1 hour or more, with her clothes soaked and the smell of beer all on her long hair, while trying to still wipe some off her eyes with the tears dripping down her face quietly. As the emotions started to sink in of what just happened. Making it hard for her to get back on the bike and ride home. Once, again this is at a time when only the rich people had portable Cell Phones the size of half your face. LOL.

The Bronx however did find the courage to get back on her bike, while she was damp from Beer smelling like an Alcoholic person on her body. While she kept replaying their foul words: Joking, laughing, and yelling out loud. Get the Fu** off the Streets. Screaming at her stupid dumb Bitch…

Trembling a bit scared they would find her again. She took a different route home with not too much lighting on the back roads, more by garbage bins. So if she had to defend herself, she would use the garbage cans and tops. Along with her knowledge of Shotokan Karate, she had confidence that she could defend herself or die trying.

Her home was minutes away and she knew her friend Anderson from Stanford University who normally meets her at night to chat, would most likely be expecting her right about now.

The weather was moderately comfortable, perhaps around 75 at night, so she wasn't too cold after having her clothes damp from the Beer suddenly thrown on her.

The Bronx did get home safe and sound where she lived and thank goodness Anderson the Med student was there waiting for her in the lobby. Their relationship was strictly platonic. When he saw Bronx upset and smelling like Beer, with tears in her eyes. Right away Andrew grabbed her bike and started helping her to the apartment. Then, saying don’t worry “I got this”. Andrew jumped into his Pre-Med schooling and said can you please go take a shower? I just want to examine you! Just to make sure no bones, scratches, or anything is needed to be done. Okay.

I felt safe and happy to have him as a good friend. While I changed and refreshed myself, laying down for him to examine me.. telling me that I was okay. Just some small cuts and bruises.

For me to rest myself now and if I needed to call him just pick up the phone.

The moral of this story is even when you're trying to work or succeed at something there's always danger out there. I could have that night very well being murdered, raped, or even gotten kidnapped.

Leaving no evidence of what happened to me. I'm thankful for my wits and for knowing to go hide!

Be quiet and still. Letting them leave drunk or high?

Keep my composure and stay calm. If you ever find yourselves in this type of situation, please, hide, stay very still & quiet, turn your cell phone to vibrate or no sound quickly, text your location to friends, look for weapons or things to defend yourselves. If you do not have a licensed gun or know how to defend yourself.

I hope this story helps someone who's out and about at night time. Being conscious of your surroundings always, knowing your escape routes, exits, streets, back roads, and whereabouts is important, and to have some pepper spray with you. Not ever to depend on GPS! Know your WAY! That night God knows where this story would have ended up, perhaps I wouldn't even be sitting here telling this story right now; if I didn’t move and hide quickly. Okay, everybody, thanks for listening and I'll bring you another episode next week of my Palo Alto life story. Funny, I never met Steve Job anywhere in Palo Alto, California.

Wishful Thinking.
