She cheated on her to take her baby out when she was 8 months pregnant

This case begins with a woman named Flavia Godhino Mafra born on December 12, 1995 in Canelhina, a municipality located in the south of Brazil.

There is not much information about her life but what is known is that in 2009 she met a boy named Valdeli Mafra with whom some time later she began a relationship.

Flavia has always felt adoration for children, which took her to university to study teaching and pedagogy.

After graduating in 2017, she began working as a substitute teacher in a nursery school.

In October 2019 she married Valdeli and in December of that same year she was awarded for her work as a teacher.

However, her greatest happiness came just a few days later when she discovered that she was pregnant.

A few weeks later, the couple knew that the baby they were expecting was a girl. They were so excited that they immediately chose a name for her: Cecilia.

It can be said that Flavia at 24 years old was at the best time of her life: She worked on what she liked the most and was forming her own family but unfortunately she came across a person who wanted what she had, a daughter.

Flavia was very active on social networks, especially on Instagram where she shared part of her day to day.

In 2020 and when she was in the middle of her pregnancy, Flavia became close friends with 28-year-old Rozalba Grimm.

There are two versions of how they met say that they were childhood friends and that they resumed their friendship and others who met through a maternity group that was on Facebook.

Be that as it may, the two women became very friends because at that time they had something in common... And in theory they were both pregnant.

What Flavia could least suspect was that her friendship was part of a macabre plan.

The facts:

On August 27, 2020, when Flavia was in her eighth month of pregnancy, she received an invitation that made her very excited.

Apparently Rozalba had organized a surprise party for the baby, so that day at 2 in the afternoon the woman picked up Flavia in her car to go to an abandoned ceramic factory located in the Porto Galera neighborhood in Canelhina where in theory the party was going to be held.

It is known that at 3.48 p.m. Flavia connected to her mobile phone for the last time and from here no one else heard anything about her again.

The hours passed and Flavia showed no signs of life. Both her husband and her family began to worry since the woman had never been so long without communicating with them. The panic increased when night came and Flavia didn’t go to sleep at home. At this point the family was already convinced that something was wrong.

This is why they contacted Rozalba because at the end of the day he had gone out with her that afternoon.

However, the woman told them something that left them quite bewildered. According to her version, she had left the party ahead of time and Flavia had stayed with another friend.

With all this the next morning they reported her disappearance to the police.

At the same time they made an appeal through social networks in case anyone had seen her, and this was joined by Rozalba who shared her friend’s photo on Facebook.

Thanks to a friend of Flavia’s with whom she spoke before her disappearance, the family knew that the woman was going to the neighborhood of Porto Galera so everyone went there to look for her.

They finally arrived at an abandoned ceramic factory and it was there that Flavia’s husband and mother made a terrible discovery.

Lying on the floor and next to an industrial oven was the lifeless body of the young woman. Apparently they had hit her on the head but the most sinister thing of all was that there was an incision in her abdomen and that someone had removed her baby.

The police arrived at the place right away. And it is known that some time later they declared that in their years of work they had never witnessed something so terrible.

Where is the baby?

On the afternoon of August 28, while all this was happening, a couple went to the Joana de Gusmao children’s hospital in Florianópolis. According to the woman, she had had an emergency birth, however the doctors observed two things that led them to suspect that the woman was lying.

The first was that she had no signs that she had recently given birth and the second and the one that alarmed them the most. The baby had cuts all over his back. The woman said that she had done them herself when she tried to cut the umbilical cord. By not believing this justification, they called the police of Florianópolis.

The agents identified the woman, it was Rozalba Grimm, Flavia’s friend and the man who accompanied her was her husband. At that very moment the two were arrested.

During the interrogation Rozalba said that she had given birth in his house however the police had just learned that the police of. Canelinhas had found the body of a lifeless pregnant woman from whom she had taken her baby, so it didn’t take long to relate the two cases.

When the agents told Rozalba what had happened and above all, that they were convinced that she was the culprit, she collapsed and confessed.

The woman stated that she and her husband had tried to have children on several occasions but their pregnancies never reached term.

In November 2019 she became pregnant for the last time, however in January 2020 she lost the baby.

Even so, she didn’t go to the health center and didn’t tell her family what happened, not even her husband... so she pretended to everyone that she was still pregnant.

It is important to mention that her husband was a truck driver and spent a lot of time away from home so he never doubted her.

To make his lie more credible, Rozalba got ultrasounds from other women and made them pass for his own. She also published the evolution of her pregnancy on all her social networks.

Meanwhile, he began to devise a macabre plan to get a baby at all costs.

For her, Flavia was the perfect person since she was pregnant about the same time she should be and she was very confident. So she began to become more and more friends with her.

When the alleged expected date for her childbirth approached, Rozalba deceived Flavia with the excuse of the surprise party for her baby and took her to the abandoned ceramic factory.

The two women entered the place together. Taking advantage of a distraction from Flavia, Rozalba stood behind her and hit her on the head with a brick. Then she grabbed a sharp object that he carried in her bag and made an incision in her belly to remove the baby.

Once she fled with the little girl from the crime scene, she called her husband to tell him that she had given birth.

The man immediately went to pick her up and took her to the hospital.

After the interrogation, the agents searched Rozalba’s house and there they found towels soaked in blood. Some time later it was known that it was Flavia’s blood.

In addition, they also found the victim’s mobile phone and documentation.

For all this she was accused of murder, kidnapping and injury to a newborn.

To this day, Rozalba Grimm is in prison awaiting trial. If she is guilty, she could be sentenced to 30 years in prison.

To avoid this, the defense of the lawyers will be based on the possible psychological disorders suffered by their defendant.

Rozalba’s husband remained in prison until October 2020, when the investigations ended. In these they were able to verify that he was not involved in the case.

Little Cecilia who should have been born in September 2020 was treated in the hospital with antibiotics due to the injuries she suffered.

To clear up any kind of doubt, they did a DNA test that confirmed that it was Cecilia, Flavia’s daughter.

Fortunately, she recovered and was handed over to her father with whom she lives today.
