The Fifth Settlement Killer

The Fifth Settlement Killer

The incident that took place today is still fresh in everyone's minds, and truth be told, it's safe to say that it's one of the worst cases in Egypt's history. Unlike the usual individual crimes, today's perpetrator is a serial killer, the first of its kind since the infamous Giza killer. So, brace yourselves for the chilling details of this unmissable event. It all began when the police received a report from a citizen in Port Said Governorate, claiming to have discovered the body of a girl abandoned on a desert road, with a horrifying and unsettling appearance. Naturally, the police rushed to the scene, a truly desolate desert, only to find the girl's body completely exposed, her face disfigured, bearing deep signs of abuse and torture all over her body. Additionally, her hair had been not just shaved, but brutally cut from her head. The sight was truly terrifying. Subsequently, the body was taken to the forensic department, and a security cordon was established around the crime scene to gather any possible evidence. The issue in this case arose from the usual procedure followed by the police when dealing with cases involving unidentified bodies. Typically, they refer back to registered reports, often related to missing persons, but this case posed a greater challenge. The police were unable to find any reports or descriptions related to the discovered body.

The body was found naked, devoid of any identification documents or information. However, the police made another discovery. On May 16, they received two reports similar to the original one, one from South Port Said and the other from Ismailia, both reporting the discovery of a mutilated female body abandoned in the desert. Upon conducting forensic analysis of the third victim's body, it was revealed that the perpetrator of all three crimes was the same individual. All the victims had drugs in their bloodstream and had suffered brutal physical and sexual torture, with evidence of assault using sharp tools. Strikingly, they all died from strangulation, with the only difference being that the third body was decomposed, indicating a longer time since death.

Despite the victims remaining unidentified for a period, the police recently discovered their identities. The first victim was a 29-year-old housewife from Giza, the second a 19-year-old university student from Al-Zawya Al-Hamra in Cairo, and the third a 34-year-old employee from the city of Nasr.

So, we can see that the three victims came from three different locations, which made the case more complex. Typically, when someone dies in a specific area, the police focus their search efforts there. However, with the victims spread across different areas, it became challenging to pinpoint the search location. Nevertheless, the police made a clever move by examining surveillance cameras and radars on the desert roads. They identified a specific car that appeared in all three locations and extracted its information from the license plate numbers.

They identified him as a person named Karim and initiated investigations. Karim indeed confessed to being the serial killer they were searching for. He informed the police of his intention to admit to the crime. However, he managed to escape at that moment, but the police eventually captured him after discovering him hiding in a garden. It was then revealed that Karim was in his late thirties and held dual nationalities - Egyptian and American. He had graduated from an American university in Egypt and obtained a doctorate in psychology. His profile seemed unlikely for someone involved in such crimes.

After graduation, he briefly worked at an international school before resigning and traveling to America, where he acquired his second nationality and ventured into trade. He got married, but later divorced and returned to Egypt. Karim was extremely wealthy, owning a luxurious car and sporting tattoos on his body. He even purchased an apartment in a renowned complex. Despite his life of luxury, he turned to nefarious activities.

He developed an addiction to ice, one of the most perilous drugs, inducing extreme aggression in users. There were reports of him killing his dog, potentially due to drug-induced aggression. While setting up his apartment in the complex, he requested the real estate agent to construct a soundproof room, initially presumed to be for a music studio, but it later became a chamber of death.Karim used to meet women through social media or nightclubs.

He used to pay them to come back and spend the day with him at the house. Most of them agreed, and after arriving at the house, they would take the drug "ICE" and he would film them before and during the sexual intercourse. The police found these videos on his mobile phone and laptop, as well as other videos with women, but it wasn't confirmed whether they were also victims.

I must clarify something to you, these videos were not ordinary. They documented his sadistic and sick behavior, as he enjoyed the idea of torture and violence. The louder the victims' voices rose, the more pleasure he got, while ending their lives.

Therefore, these videos were of torture and sickness in a satanic way. All of this was happening without any sound or screams from the victims, due to the soundproof room. These acts were atrocities in every sense of the word. He kept one of the victims in the room for 30 days, forcing her to take the drug "ICE" in a sadistic way daily, and when he felt tired, he would strangle her to death. He did all of this because he was trying to imitate the scenes of violence and sadism that he watched in pornographic movies in America, desiring to experience the same feeling.

After committing these acts, he would tie the victims' necks with a belt and tighten them until they suffocated. The question here is, was there a reason for him to do this after killing them? We have now confirmed that everything he did was sexually motivated, but after their death, there was no reaction. After mutilating the bodies, he would put them in a travel bag, then put this bag in his car and head to the desert road.

After committing the crime, he would dispose of the bodies and the bag, and the police identified through surveillance cameras that he used the bag to transport the first two bodies, placing them in the bag and returning to the same apartment. Following this, he would indulge in rich meals, with reports suggesting a preference for fish, as a reward for the crimes he had committed.

Further revelations uncovered that he maintained a TikTok account with 600 thousand followers, where he primarily shared educational content. In his latest video posted on April 23, he is seen continuing to harm girls, followed by the creation of educational videos. The account was under the name "Fonks".

In a disturbing twist, Karim did not randomly select his victims, but rather targeted women without family or close connections. He seemingly viewed them as disposable, perhaps as a twisted game. His background in psychology likely played a role in his victim selection. Despite admitting to the murder of three women during the investigation, he omitted specific details, raising concerns of a psychological disorder among the authorities.

As a result, he receives a more lenient judgment, but at the same time, his denial prompts the police to revisit unsolved cases files, many of which are believed to be linked to Karim; some claim there are five, others say seven, but the number of victims remains unconfirmed. There is still uncertainty about the purpose of the videos he was recording; were they for personal use? Was he selling them on the dark web? Similar to the Shubra al-Khaimah case, we still lack clarity because the investigations are ongoing. As new information comes to light, I will continue the investigation to see the resolution of this case. Ultimately, all I can say is that God protects everyone. Truly, this is one of the darkest cases in the history of Egypt.
