Unsolved

Khiara Henry was a young woman from San Diego, California, described by her family as a very outgoing, spontaneous and adventurous person. This animal lover used to work as a volunteer cleaning up the trash that people left on the beaches.

In addition, her favorite hobby was hiking and she also really enjoyed practicing Yoga.

On July 18, 2019, when Khiara was 23 years old, she went alone on vacation to Maui, an island in Hawaii, where, as the images show, she checked into the Aston Maui Hill hotel.

It is known that the next day she boarded a tourist bus that included a tour of the Wainʻāpanapa park, and on July 20 she took another tour with the Hike Maui company to visit some waterfalls and part of the jungle.

The last time anyone saw Khiara was on July 21 at 2 p.m. at a car rental office located at the Kahului airport.

In the security camera images you can see the young woman entering this office and talking to the employee who rented her the car. Minutes later she left the parking lot in the assigned vehicle, the problem is that from now on no one has heard from Khiara again.

On July 23, Waiʻānapanapa State Park workers found Khiara's car abandoned in a gravel parking lot.

Inside the vehicle was his luggage, his credit card and his identification, however the key, his mobile phone and a small backpack were missing. These belongings were never located.

On July 26, the rental company recovered the car and it was one of its employees who contacted Khiara's sister to inform her of her disappearance, so immediately after this call she reported the incident to the police.

Officers could see from the car's mileage that it had been driven directly from the rental agency to the park.

Additionally, they found that Khiara's banking and credit card activity stopped on July 21, as did her phone calls, which began going directly to voicemail.

The police and several volunteers searched the park area and, not finding a single clue, decided to release the surveillance tapes to the media in the hope that someone would come forward with some reliable information.

Khiara's family also offered a $10,000 reward, which was later increased to $15,000. But there was no success either.

On July 29, Khiara had to take his scheduled flight back to San Diego, but they found that he never got on the plane.

The Henry family does not believe that the young woman left of her own free will, since she was very close to them. They also believe that Khiara's case is very difficult because there is no evidence of any kind, and what they might have, according to them, has disappeared since, for example, the rental vehicle was towed and completely cleaned.

In July 2020, Khiara's mother, Monica Henry, thanked the Maui community for all the support they had received and established an information line that contacts the family directly, since the detective in charge of her case does not even return their calls. of phone.

Since her disappearance, the family has made several trips to look for Khiara in Maui, something that was interrupted during the pandemic.

In 2023, a person who was in Maui claimed to see the girl on the island but after seeing a photo her family confirmed that it was not her.

To this day her disappearance is still a mystery so her family fails to close this terrible chapter in itself.

From here we hope that the case will be resolved soon.
