Senior Homecoming...Friends, music, fun, and memories to last a lifetime....a night that should be remembered forever. Well, mine definetly is, but not too fondly.

Let me set the stage for you. I was not one of the popular crowd. I didn't come from money. I feel like I could best be described as the awkward, smart girl. I worked at the local grocery store as a cashier after school, therefore I didn't have much of a social life. To be honeest, I didn't have much of one before the job.

Not wanting to go to my senior homecoming dance alone, I worked up the courage to ask a fellow cashier. He was good looking and funny. We always got along at work. He didn't go to the same school and was a year older than me. Amazingly, he agreed.

The day of the dance, I did the typical teenage girl ritual. My friends and I left school and went to lunch, then to get our hair done at the mall. Let me just say the hairstyle alone was super embarrassing, but that is for another story. After the salon, we all went back to one girl's house to get dressed and do our makeup. We spent the afternoon giggling and doing makeovers. Our dates were set to pick us up there.

My date showed up on time; looking dashing as ever in his tux. He, of course, brought a coursage. I was so impressed at him being a good sport about posing for the obligatory photos. It was as if he actually was excited as I was. Once those were out of the way,the entire group headed off to the restuarant to have a predance meal. The night was unfolding as it should. All was right in my teenage universe.

After a few hours at the dance in my highschool gym, my date asked if I was ready to go. I was all to thrilled to get out of that sweaty gym. I was all too ready to get a breath of fresh air. I enthusiastically agreed it was time to head for the door. I also was hoping for a little alone time with my date. Just a few moments to actually be able to have a conversation about something other than work...possibly about us. A girl can hope, right? I mean we have all seen the movies where the awkward girl finds her prince charming, becomes pretty, and lives happily ever after with an amazing soundtrack.

Back to the story: As we headed to his truck, my date reached for my hand and my heart started racing. He opened the passenger door for me and I slid in. When he got in, he slid across the bench sit close to me. Now, my heart was about to beat out of my chest. He leaned in and kissed me...soft and sweet. Cue sappy love songs.

The next thing I knew, my date was as close as you can get to someone with your clothese still on. We were kissing pretty heavy at this point. I knew I was not going to go "all the way", but I was enjoying the moment. Before I knew it, my date was rubbing himself against my leg. Being someone that had not had many dates and definetly had not kissed many guys, I was a little confused.

Was this normal? What was I supposed to do?

After about three minutes of me pressed awkwardly against the leather seat, my date shuddered and took a deep breath. He kissed me once more and then moved behind the wheel. With a huge "I just won the lottery grin" on his face, he asked if I wanted to get something to eat. I was so shocked, I asked to go home.

Yes, my friends, I had just been dry humped by my crush. He acted as if this was the most natural thing in the world and happened on all dates. Let me stop here and say that I in no way felt violated ot victimized. I was confused and dumbstruck. Then, when I worked the nerve up to tell a few people what happened, I was met with full belly laughs. Apparently, humping your date's leg like a golden retriever is not the natural order of things. I later found out said date actually had a girlfriend at the time. Needless to say, I did not speak to him at work or anywhere else for that matter.
