No More Excuses
Why is it so hard to make changes? Do you find yourself trying to do better only to end up exactly where you were to begin with? That voice somewhere telling you can't, so why bother? It is like a cycle that never ends. You start. Go all in for the first couple of weeks and then BAM. It is hard. You are tired. You don’t wanna.

I'm Not Taking It Anymore
I do not want to be me anymore. Is it impossible to change who you are? Let me describe myself a little bit. I am 43. A wife of 24 years. A mom to a 21 year old and an 18 year old. I also just became a grandmother to the cutest little girl in the world.

Stop Following the Shiny Objects
I love a good Before and After story. What can be better than seeing someone change their life? I am a sucker for a book or a plan where someone says, "Look at me before...overweight, out of shape, bad hair, in debt, or...(add any bad thing here) BUT Look at me now! For just $27, I will tell you how I did it."

Reality or Fiction
I, like many others, find myself drawn to the drama, chaos, glamour, and intrigue of others' lives. Especially when it can be viewed from the privacy of my home (or on my phone). Insert reality television. Reality television has become a huge part of today's programming.

How to Not be Your Kids' Friend
Let me start by saying that my children are not perfect. I am the mom that would go to the school at the first of each year to meet the teachers and let them know I was on their side and to let me know how I could help them through out the year. I live with my kids. I know their personalities. I know the schemes that their little, undeveloped brains would try to cook up.

Planning is Key
I am a perfectionist. Some would call me an overachiever. I like to be good at whatever it is I am doing. I have learned over the years that to be good at something, you have to have a good plan. I have also learned that it is so easy to get caught up in the planning and never make any progress. Planning for lasting change does not have to take a long time, but it does take a few key factors.

The Ride is Over!
Enough is enough! How many times am I going to "do better", "start tomorrow", "work on it", or "get my act together"? I will do good for a week or two; eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, and working out. Then, I slip. Something happens, like an ice storm that shuts the state down for a week, and I get lazy and complacent. I tell myself that I will start again tomorrow. Tomorrow will be "the day". The cycle continues to go on and on

Got a Key?
Let me just start by saying that I have the utmost respect for teachers. Regardless of the age or grade they teach, these are truly special people. It takes someone with the right personality and temperament to be put into a room with anywhere between 10-40 kids/teenagers/adolescents. Who am I kidding? It takes a special person to be able to teach 1. It takes a super hero to teach more than that, more than once.

I Have Questions
The other day, while scrolling on Facebook, I came across a post for a business that is closing. The owner was discarding miscellaneous items used in the store for display and storage. Out of the candles, racks, and baskets; a two-piece set of luggage caught my eye. I know nothing of fine vintage items. I simply know what sparks an interest and curiosity. I messaged the owner to see if the pieces were still available. A two-piece set of Hartmann brown leather vintage luggage for free came home with me the next day.

Let's Step it Up People!
Today, we are going to talk about a topic that will make most men either blush or cringe. If we are being perfectly honest, it makes most women do the same. I'm talking about our yearly visit to the OB/GYN. Let me just stop right here and say: All women should go every year for your check up and exams. It is a great way to head off something or just to ask questions.
