There Ain’t No Love Left in the Pot!
Last episode , Ben’s world had turned upside down; some good, some not so good. ‘Dumb-ass jelly bean!’ was how Calvernicus had described Ben. He was offended. He put it out of his mind because, on the good side, he was spending the next week with ‘one-on-one’ with Tina. He could not wait.

Ben Moves On – But to What?
In the last episode , Ben’s opportunity to win back favour with HR through the ‘Bring Your Pets to Work’ day had not gone too well. Penny was on crutches (although Ben felt a large part of this was for show), and Mr T was in a neck brace after his encounter with his pet snake.

The Creekbed Witness
Chapter Thirteen — The Order Calder Boone’s porch felt like a place the fog wanted to claim. Detective Mara Ellery stood beneath the flickering porch light, the strip of bark hanging from the railing swaying gently in the damp air. The symbol carved into it — circle, three lines — looked deeper than the others she’d seen. More deliberate. More personal.

The Creekbed Witness
Chapter One — The Creekbed Witness Miller Creek woke before the town did. Fog lay thick across the water, not drifting but resting, as if it had settled in for the long haul. The treeline was only a suggestion of darker gray against lighter gray. The air smelled of wet earth and something metallic beneath it — a scent Calder Boone couldn’t place but didn’t like.

Chapter Six — The Clearing The woods didn’t let them leave easily. Detective Mara Ellery stood in the clearing with the carved stump, the fog curling around her boots like smoke. The knife lay across her name, its handle wrapped in dark cloth, its blade catching what little light filtered through the trees.

Fifty Years for Fifty Cents
I have a bad habit of bringing forgotten things home. It started years ago with an old church pew someone had abandoned beside a county road. Then came a quilt stitched from faded feed sacks, a cracked blue Mason jar rescued from a smokehouse that was about to be torn down, and enough family photographs of complete strangers to fill three albums in my spare bedroom. My friends always teased me that one day I was going to end up on one of those hoarding television shows, but I never saw those things as junk. Every one of them had belonged to somebody. They had been held, loved, repaired, packed away, and eventually forgotten. Somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn't collecting antiques at all. I was collecting pieces of people's lives.

The shock of it all – How much can a Koala bear?
In the last episode , the truth about the “not so secret discretionary account 60743” was coming to light during the internal investigation. Ben was feeling very depressed and exposed by the whole situation. He felt the end was near as Doug Selfrighteous and the investigators zoomed in on the entries.

The Return of Tina Goodytwoshoes!
In the last episode , Ben still couldn’t win a trick with the evil Penny Promo from marketing. Today, he had to talk to her about the final plans for Pets Day at Work. He had agreed to handle it during a rare moment of feeling responsible. It was suggested by HR as part of his remediation for let’s just say ‘indiscretions’ with Penny.
