Alaric's days were spent working at the town library, where he wondered about the dusty books that murmured insider facts of neglected spells and unbelievable curios. Yet, regardless of his interest, Alaric had no enchantment of his own - a unique case in Arcanum where even the smallest animals had a dash of spiritualist energy.

At some point, an exceptional book grabbed Alaric's eye. Its cover glimmered with an ethereal light, and when he opened its pages, a warm breeze occupied the room, conveying murmurs of failed to remember chants.
