About this challenge
The Prompt
Write a fiction story that includes the phrase: "reset your password".
The tedious and seemingly dull act of changing one's password can bring with it a kaleidoscope of emotions - ranging from feelings of frustration to redemption, and perhaps even a rush of adrenaline. Whether the change in your story is brought about by a broken computer, stolen identity, safe heist, or scorned lover, let's embrace the new year by figuratively resetting your password.
In order for your submission to qualify, it must:
- Be between 600-5,000 words
- Include the phrase from the prompt
The Prizes
- Grand Prize: $1,000
- Second Place: $250
- 10 Runners-Up: $25

In her story, Dear Vocal Judges/Fellow Poets, Creator Harmony Kent asks questions that we have been wrestling with ever since we launched Vocal. In reality, the very halls of linguistics have echoed with these same questions and attempts to quantify and measure all parts of the English language for a very long time. As often as we can, we like to defer to the experts on these issues, though even they, the keepers of the language, have conflicting views, and so do we.
