The 80s wouldn't be completed without Daryl Hall & John Oates. Of all the music that is played on the car radios, the retail stores, you've heard Hall & Oates when you didn't even know it was them.

Private eyes, Maneater, Kiss On My List, and You Make My Dreams Come True. There are so many iconic songs it was hard to make an underrated list.

Brandon Flowers of The Killers has credited Hall & Oates for making the mark for future musicians by saying,

"If you wanna learn how to write music, you listen to Rich Girl".

This list is no particular order of favorites, they’re all equally underrated, enjoy a blast from the past of his underappreciated tunes of Hall & Oates.

1. Family Man

The song is pretty simple it’s a man telling a woman that’s interested in him that he does not want to have a relationship. It’s unclear if the man in this story is married or not, all we know is that he's a family man. It's hard to not be moving to this song with the infectious beat even if it's tied a story with an unclear narrative.

It may not be a song that defines Hall & Oates, but it is a song worth the time for how catchy this song is within seconds.

2. You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling

It's a gamble when a well-known song gets the cover treatment. Who could match the same power and feelings that The Righteous Brothers gave us? Hall & Oates carried on that legacy with their signature spin while using some of the same tones as the original to honor them. The cover of the song still evokes the same feelings. Not many can be able to cover a song like that from The Righteous Brothers.

Hall & Oates did not make us lose that loving feeling.

3. Say It Isn't So

Hall & Oates have done songs about enchanted women that are gonna eat men up, a family man that wants to be left alone, a woman named Sarah with a beautiful smile. This song feels like the anthem that sums up what it feels like when they know their relationship is coming to an end.

Songs with a story of heartbreak are a dime a dozen, But the songs that stick or the ones that get to the core of the emotions. The song is comforting even if it does have an energy to beat, Daryl Hall always found a way to soothe someone’s soul in these songs the deviate away from the usual upbeat story.

The sound doesn't obstruct the message of this song that people needed to hear. This song is easy to relate to, we've all had a partner we tried to do everything for and never got a straight answer from them. This song from Hall & Oates helps those that have trouble moving on from a relationship they never saw was going to end.

4. Out Of Touch

Out of Touch has gradually been receiving some new resurgence by having the inclusion of various TV shows like Maniac. It seems this song got out of touch with the history of the 80s. It's a shame considering it's a absolute gem that should have had its day on the radio like the rest of the songs.

It's a song about connection, something we all crave. There are numerous songs about connections in love. But there are a few like out of touch that express the deep core of what it feels like to want someone. You could take any lyric from the song and it sums up about what it feels like to want the connection.

There is the original version, and the extended version, you'll have a tough time deciding which one you like more.
