It's My Life
With most break-ups comes some heartache. Love hurts. But for Bailey, it was utter and complete devastation. It was more than just the pain of a shattered heart, it left her mind lost and her soul empty. Breaking up is hard to do.

There’s something so satisfying about belting “'Cause I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped-up four-wheel drive” in Carrie Underwood’s iconic hit 'Before He Cheats'—and this satisfaction may have happened when you were nine years old in the back of your parent’s car, it happens when you’ve never experienced relationship heartbreak, and it happens even when you’re in a committed one. The song embodies a universal anger and revenge that we all just want to release at any given moment, so I suppose it is fitting to throw it at the top of my Anti-Valentine’s playlist, because what is more anti-romantic love than a song that captures anything but?
A Playlist For Statehood Day
It's no secret that teenagers are typically very concerned with dating and romance - which makes Valentine's Day a rough time for lonely high schoolers. Fortunately, I grew up in Arizona, where Valentine's Day is not just a holiday about romantic love and coupledom. It's also Statehood Day!

Oh boy, have I been waiting for something like this. I do not hate Valentine’s Day; I think it a great holiday to remind yourself why you put up with a foot in your face while sleeping. But some people do not have that foot in your face luxury. That is love. For Anti-Valentine, I believe the opposite is not being single because being single can be happiness as well. The opposite for me is overcoming grief, primarily from heartbreak.
Stephen ReillyPublished 3 years ago in BeatNot Waiting for Prince Charming
Once upon a time, a girl waited for her prince charming to come along, but instead of reflecting on the fact he’d yet to find her, she focused on her independence. This girl thrived on making her own decisions while her married friends laughed and whined about not telling their husbands about their latest purchase. This girl simply smiled back at them and started to sing to herself, Cheap Thrills sang by the Bellas from Pitch Perfect. This girl didn’t need money to have fun, but at least she got to make the decisions for herself.

Let’s face it: February 14th kinda sucks, especially for, but not limited to, us singles. Aside from the obvious fact that we save a bunch of money not buying gifts, we have to spend all day getting Spotify recommendations for love playlists and seeing everyone’s newest boo thang on our Instagram feed. The only thing that kinda makes up for it is the obviously superior day, February 15th: Half-Off Candy Day. That is, until now.

Love At First Listen
Regardless of if you are recently single or have been livin’ the bachelorette/bachelor life for some time now, remember Valentine’s Day isn’t exclusively for couples. There is nothing wrong with being single and in 2021 we’re now releasing the shame and stigma that comes along with it! There is a humongous difference in being alone and being lonely. Therefore, “singles awareness day” (S.A.D.) should stand for “singles awe-inspiring day” instead! Let’s remember why we’re single and celebrate it. Grab the wine, call your girlfriends (optional but encouraged), and set the vibe with these tunes guaranteed to boost morale and ROCK your Valentine’s Day!

No- Meghan Trainor I felt like this is the best song that explains that you don't need to be with a significant other to have fun and do stuff, especially like going out and dancing. Most of the time when a group of girls go out to the club to dance, there aren't interested in anything to do with guys. They're out trying to have fun with themselves and their friends. They don't get dressed up for dudes, they get all dressed up for themselves, to feel good and pretty. Most of my female friends or women I talk to, their biggest complaint about going dancing are the guys that try to come up and ruin their good time, and no matter how many times they say they're not interested, men are "relentless". This song is perfect for wanting to have fun and not seeking any sexual or intimate interest from or for anyone.

Ah, Valentine’s Day—where the world’s supply of chocolate reaches its apex, red and pink greeting cards suddenly cost a month’s wages, and everywhere you turn there are heart-shaped balloons and inconceivable lineups anywhere that sell flowers.

Love. Love is the most potent drug to quit. Even when we are mistreated, we stay. Why is being in love so addicting? Dr. Stanton Peele Ph.D writes that love is more addictive than seven other drugs: cocaine, alcohol, valium, heroin, cigarettes, and even potato chips.

Let’s face it: Valentine’s Day sucks if you’re single. Sure it may not bug you too much, but when you see all the cute couple action going on during the Valentine’s Day craze, it can be a little upsetting. Me? I’m single as a Pringle, and I love it. Over the years, the best way I’ve coped with being single on this holiday is by making it a Self-Love Day. You’re great, and the most important love of all, in my opinion, is the love you have for yourself. Instead of feeling sad for what you don’t have, it may be worth it to look inward and appreciate all the wonderful things that make you who you are.
An Anti-Vday, Pro You Playlist
I grew up on music made for people in love. I used to scream “End of the Road” by Boyz II Men. Before I even knew what a relationship was, before I had even kissed anyone. The way R&B artists sang about being in love made me feel like I was too.
