The Millennial’s Guide to an Angst-Filled Youth
No matter how hard life seemed as a teen, there was nothing the right song couldn't solve. When it seemed like the world didn't make sense and no one was ever going to understand you, somehow, you would stumble across a set of lyrics that spoke to your soul.
Jessie WaddellPublished 3 years ago in BeatMental Health Songs That Got Me Through Middle School
In recent years, mental health has become a huge topic in media and everyday life. Ten years ago, when I was in middle school, it was not such an accepted topic. I have depression, anxiety and anorexia, all of which got brought to the forefront of my mind in middle school. School is hard for everyone, that’s just a fact, but it is harder for some than it is for others. When going through grade school, I found numerous vices to help alleviate the mental turmoil that I experience; music being one of them. I don’t think I realized it at the time, but my favorite songs were never love songs, they were specific to mental health. In a time of dread and anxiety, it's no surprise that my go-to playlist was based off of songs portraying the same feeling and surviving them.
Amanda MitchellPublished 3 years ago in BeatSongs That Uniquely Express the Black Experience
When writing songs or poetry, most people like to express their personal experiences in their own creative artwork. I like to share a few songs that uniquely express black experiences, as well as rebelled in their own way against socia norms in our society.

Oh, my teenage years...a time of life that no amount of money could get me to revisit if that were an option. I do, however, revisit the musical memories of those years because, lets face it, music now (if you can call it that) is just going downhill. Some of my favorite songs include:
Crissy CornwellPublished 3 years ago in BeatMy angsty teen songs
Tokyo Narita- Halsey I was always angsty, still, and this song has many emotions that can’t be described. The lyrics never really held a deep meaning for me but when I’m all run out from thinking, feeling, or saying anything I can play this. It’s not anything I’ve experienced but I can feel what she’s feeling like going through the motions. It’s just a short freestyle but it feels like so much more. I really can’t explain it.

We've all been through that phase; those crucial developmental years when nothing holds meaning and our hormones drive our parents to the brink of shipping you off somewhere. I myself was a bit of a trouble child in middle and high school, but the latter institution was when things took a turn.

In 2020, Taylor Swift dropped her eighth studio album during the peak of the Covid-19 lockdown. Apparently, she was using this time in isolation to focus on her storytelling, and, in late-July she blessed the world with an album rich in escapism and fantasy exactly when we needed it.

Finding new music can be endlessly frustrating. Are you like me, constantly asking for new music recommendations? Sometimes I feel those around me think my brain must be broken, why can't I just listen to the same songs on repeat on the radio?
Classical Music Playlist You Must Listen To and That Inspires You
Listening to classical music can make you as relaxed as energetic, as well as being involved in a very emotional state. I love listening to classical music, as well playing the violin. My passion for classical music extend as much as I listen to (new) music and recordings. Why does a musician play the way he or she plays? What feeling(s) do I get? And I can ask myself many more questions, but overall, I love making my own playlist, whether it is on YouTube, Spotify, or any other streaming platform.
