Edison is Becoming One of the Elites in R&B Music and Its Future

What’s your name and where are you from?

My name is Edison Salvador. My artist name is Edison and I am from Los Angeles, CA. I am originally from Modesto, California, but I currently reside in Southern California.

What makes you different?

I think what makes me different as a person is I like to view everything in a landscape. Viewing everything in many ways as I can is what helps me keep a healthy mindset. I don’t like to keep everything in a box and see things the way most people see certain situations no matter what the topic is. It can be about relationships, family, love, music, sports, songwriting, movies, entertainment, or life in general. I am all about keeping an open mind when it comes to who I am as a person. As the artist you get to see different forms of me that you may not get in person. When it comes to my characteristics in music, it can range anywhere from being loving, humble, cocky, mysterious, helpful, soulful, energetic, and sad. There are a lot more of course, but I like to give different versions of what I am capable of as an artist. People may view these traits as just characters for entertainment, but everything that I create or talk about represents a version of me.

What do you want to accomplish in life?

The main thing that I always look to fight for and accomplish is being able to do what I love full time. Music is more than just a goal to me. I view it as my life. Being able to support myself by doing what I extremely care for is a dream come true. I do believe that being able to live a life of music is not only helpful to me, but to my family and everyone who I love. That is where the motivation comes in. There has to be a purpose to what you do with what you love. If no time is being put into your dream, then what is the point of wasting all of that energy? It all comes down to discipline and hard work one thousand percent of the time. I want to accomplish being able to be the best artist I can be and I’m willing to learn every single day to make sure that becomes a reality.

What do you want to accomplish in the next 5 years?

In the next 5 years, I see myself being one of the best R&B artists’ by then. I want to be the type of individual who has already inspired a generation of singers, songwriters, and producers to want to do something different so that they can lead their own era of great music. Hopefully around that time I can possibly scout up and coming talent. I have always wanted to create my own platform to where people can have an opportunity to show their skills. When it comes to life outside of music, I don’t know where I see myself by then. I am going to have to just let life run its course when it comes to my own personal life, but I guess that is the beauty about future. The only thing I can look forward to in the next 5 years is that I am going to stay healthy, I am going to be doing what I love, and I will be happy.

What do you bring to the music world?

I bring something that is unique to the world of music. Most of my songs are based around something that I have went through in my life. There may be a twist to it, but you will get something that is real from me. I love storytelling so it is important that I give it to you in the best form that I know how. You will hear me sing about topics differently than most artists’ tend to. There is an openminded concept when I create my projects. I want to provide a different way of delivery of how I approach different topics such as love, breakups, adventure, partying, clubbing, drinking, and so much more. I think lyrically I’m communicating to everyone in a very unique way because most of my words are from long nights of thinking and writing. As I said in the beginning I don’t like to think inside the box. I feel like that is how a lot of people are unrealistic.

What legacy do you want to leave behind?

I want people to look back on my legacy and say this guy was different. I want to show people that integrity still means so much as a person and to others that you surround yourself with. I want to leave a mark that says dreams always come true…the only way to get it is to keep dreaming and living in the moment within it. Leave a legacy that is great to look up to and I want people to inspire those people so that when it is their turn, they are able to do it for the next generation. I want to leave a legacy of great inspiration and I know I am capable of leaving that mark.
