Idiots are Important in The Horror Genre
I’ve recently finished watching the first season of a horror show called “From,” on Epix. It’s a fairly unique premise, but if I had to compare it to anything, it'd be a combo of “Lost and Wayward Pines,” but extremely darker.

Ashes of Dragons
There weren't always dragons in the valley. Like dark clouds carried on an angry wind, they came, with gigantic wings, stretching across the sky; so thin, you could see the intricate veins spread across their leaf-like wings like a spider’s web. Two Weeks As a Book Peddler
There was a wall in my childhood bedroom, lined with bookshelves. It held novels and all sorts of different books, from classic fairy tales to graphic novels, but my all-time favorite had to be the gigantic encyclopedia-sized book, filled with Mother Goose rhymes, Hans Christian Andersen and The Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Those whimsical, mysterious and sometimes dark stories were absolutely captivating.

War is Brutal. There is No Such Thing As An Ethical War.
Born in Jamaica in 1896 to Scottish parents, my great-grandfather, Alfred Channer, fought in both world wars, first as a teenager, and then as a middle-aged married father in the Second World War. At the time, Jamaica was still part of the British Empire. Wounded in both, he recalled to my grandmother the horrors he saw and the things he did to survive in the trenches and on the battlefields of Europe.
