Bio
I'm a bit of a mixed-bag: professional artisan, aspiring businesswoman, film-aficionado, and part-time writer (because there are too many stories in my head).

12 Days of Christmas Movies: "'It's a Wonderful Life' is a wonderful mirror for audiences"
I was still pretty young when I first took an interest in classic cinema. A lot of that is because of what was on tap in my parents' home video collection. Back in the olden-timey days, long before the miraculous advent of digital download, if there was a movie on TV that you wanted to keep, you had a couple of go-to options to acquire it:

My Cottage Industry (part 3)
You know, you never do forget your first… and the same applies to craft shows! I know I'll never forget mine, for a few different reasons: it was a sunny November Saturday (the 17th to be exact), it was organized by my parish's Catholic school, and I swear I never sweated so much in my life outside of going to confession.

12 Days of Christmas Movies: "'Elf' is still iconic 20 years later"
Elf (2003) The year is 2003; sometime in late November to be specific. I had just turned 11 years old and my older brother and I were going on an outing to the movies. Our (literal) baby brother, was unable to accompany us as he was only 8 month old at the time, but somehow and someway the movie we were about to see would also become an iconic staple of his own childhood - as well as the childhoods of several generations to come.

12 Days of Christmas Movies: "'Christmas with the Kranks' is a movie that was made..."
Christmas with the Kranks (2004) The film opens with your typical American couple, Luther and Nora Krank (played delightfully throughout by Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis). They are sitting up in bed welcoming a bright, new morning in the most sullen way possible. And who can really blame them? Their adult daughter, Blair, (played by Joann Gonzales) has just joined the Peace Corps. and is leaving that day to begin her first assignment... and inevitably missing Christmas with her family for the very first time.

FATED: Part 3
Councilor Ambross leaned back in his chair and gazed out at the warm, flickering night lights of Haven. Decades ago they had once imposed a mandatory curfew when crime ravaged so severely it felt as if they were in a war-zone. But then order was restored and the curfew was removed. People were free to live their lives in peace and without fear. There were still criminals, he supposed. It was inevitable. No matter how advance the civilization, there would always be those who enjoyed wreaking havoc. But then again, he realized, there would also be those labeled criminals due to circumstances. A knock sounded from the door though he continued to stare out into the City.

The Rocky-Top Chronicles (part 3)
So - we've had one heck of week since Rocky came home from his sleep-over at the breeder's: We were all able to get a good night's sleep for two nights, and his breeders (who are far more experienced pet-owners) were able to reinforce everything he's learned so far. Everything from the bell-training, to learning his name, to (most importantly!) getting him to sleep at night (for at least several hours at a time).

FATED: Part 2
We spent the whole day at the bedroom window, just waiting for the sun to set. I think we both knew that it was the last time we would ever see our beloved home. I hate to think what must've been going through Dex's mind: did he truly understand that we were leaving forever? Or did he still hold out some hope that one day we could return? Would he ever see his father again? Was he afraid that he could one day forget his father, or stop loving his him? One day, when he's old enough, I'll be sure to ask him. And to tell him the stories of our home so that he doesn't forget them.

FATED: Part 1
Fun Fact: I first wrote this story waaay back in 2017 after a conversation with a friend of mine: we were playing the old 'ring game' to find out how many kids we were supposed to have... I came out with only one girl, and, for some reason, felt very insulted by it. After I wrote the story, I was so proud of it I included it in a small, personal book of early short stories to keep on my shelf. I still have that book, by the way, and was so proud of this one that I posted it's (very) rough draft to the Fiction Press account I kept years ago. Extra brownie-points if you can find it there, haha!

A Trip to the Biltmore
“Holy Moses!” That was all I could think to say when I first laid eyes on the house. The largest, privately-owners home in the United States, by the way. That’s right: the current generation of Vanderbilt's still own their family estate to this day, and, in the spirit of their famous hospitality, they open up the house to public tours year-round.

The Rocky-Top Chronicles (part 1)
I honestly don't remember when I first asked my parents if we could have a dog. At this point, it's been such a consistent ritual - especially around holidays and birthdays - that I honestly believed I was never going to have one in my parents' house.

Of Passion and Pleasure
This past year has been an incredibly stressful one. And, yes, that is in comparison to the absolute and unforgiving hell-scape we all felt during 2020! That's because my dad passing away was only a small part of that equation, believe it or not. It was definitely the catalyst that seemed to start a horrifying downward, emotional spiral for me.
