Something in the Way (Nirvana)
You wake up. The air is warm, a cool breeze blowing from the opened window. Your other half is sleeping soundly, snores escaping between shallow breaths. The sound that has awoken you comes ringing in your ear - it's your alarm, signalling your time to start the day. You silence it and roll out from under the covers. The soles of your feet are cold on the tiled floor.

where the ocean meets the shore
Every one of them was living in their own romantic fantasy. They were each enamoured in their own stories, believing that they were the only stars of the show; the earth was simply their stage and all other people were merely supporting actors. They all thought the same: that their love was more special or more unique than the nexts'. And they competed, unknowingly and unwittingly, fighting for whose love was stronger, who was the most devoted pair to ever fall in love. They were peacocks, strutting their relationships for the world to see, telling everyone with the way they embraced in the street, or lay in each other's arms on the front porch, that they were in absolute, perfect love.
