Who's afraid of a fat-ass wombat?
First of all, let me lay my cards on the table and unashamedly declare my bias. I absolutely adore wombats (vombatus ursinus) and, until a family holiday to Tasmania, in 2017, I'd never actually encountered or seen one in the wild.

Freeing the fish was a selfish act
To misquote "Ol' Blue Eyes" aka the late Frank Sinatra in the eponymous "My Way", regrets, I've had a ton. When I saw those two beautiful, stippled fish in the bucket at Uncle Laurie and Auntie Shirley's house, my heart went out to them.

Sinbad and Caesar found us
When we moved to Darwin in Australia's top end (the Northern Territory), my father wasn't expecting us. Mum rented a sparsely furnished house on stilts then phoned Dad to tell him we'd landed from Sydney. When I say "we", I mean Mum, me (I was seven), my brother (4) and my sister (1).
