Bio
One does not simply become a famous writer! It takes many hours before the sun comes up and even more when the sun sets. I am never sure what world I am living in, the one that I am writing about or reality.

What led to Roe v. Wade?
Friends, Rarely would I even consider writing a politically charged blog. It is almost considered a downfall to have an opinion one way or another. To have one is to be cast as a 'Karen,' a trouble maker, or dismissed as either a Democrat or Republican as if either of these political party titles makes you a bad guy. With passions running high, arguments for and against laws, regulations, or medical procedures have caused even the best of friends to question the morality lines of each other.

The Invite
There was a secret meeting tomorrow night and she absolutely had to be there. The invitation had been left on her dining room table the night before, a small calling card with a Raven printed on the front and an address on the back with small words written ‘Be there at 7 p.m.’ She had been waiting for this moment. Secretly hungering for the day that she would be accepted into the world that she had always felt to be on the fringe of. She was a small-time writer, a blogger who wrote on the lives of others, examining their lives to find justification for hers. She had a small following, but nothing that would get her listed in the Oprah Book Club or talking to Ellen in front of hundreds of adoring fans.

Freedom is personal and communitive.
I feel like I am in an excellent position to talk about freedom. I fought, bled, and was willing to give my life for it. Twenty-one years is what I gave in the name of freedom. I have witnessed the very best and the very worst of what a country implies when it states that its citizens are 'free' and lived to tell the tale.

The joys and agony of owning a home!
Friends, It is that time of year when those who live in a 'wintery' area are bored and anxious for spring. In other words, we are changing the whole house. New paint, rearranging the furniture, staring listlessly out the window, or ignoring TicTok videos to search for a new home in places like Hawaii or Texas.

Hometown Heros in Alaska
Dear Hometown Heros! I applaud you. I used to believe that if you were a hero- you would be in the papers, on the news, talking to Oprah, or running a non-profit organization. It meant that I had one picture standing next to you, smiling, and then signing a release form to have it posted on social media. It meant that you had thousands of people who knew your name, wanted to have lunch with you, or talked about you over the dinner table.

Intentional Interactions
They say that books can change lives. Those 6" x 9" pieces of paper, bound together with hopes, dreams, and persons very soul- lays the foundation to reach out and touch another human being: what a fantastic concept, the written word.

Parents of Adult Children
Friends! For January, my book club was assigned a book entitled 'I just want to pee Alone' by Some Kick Ass Mom Bloggers. The book was heartwarming, relatable, funny, and overall effortless read. It talked about the transition from sexy 20 something-year-old to hassled and frayed mom. It spoke about annoying plastic toys that sing, spit-up, luxury strollers, and the human bodies' ability to function after 2 hours of interrupted sleep.
