Bio
One does not simply become a famous writer! It takes many hours before the sun comes up and even more when the sun sets. I am never sure what world I am living in, the one that I am writing about or reality.

Henry Ford
The age-old question- Ford or Chevy? It has broken relationships, started wars in families, Facebook pages have been created for supporters, men and women have stayed up all night waiting for the arrival of the latest and greatest vehicles to flow off production lines. It is an American icon, a way of life, a tribute to the hardworking citizens of this country, it is up there with Christmas and Apple pie.

It took me 2 days to finish Bridgerton on Netflix...
I love period time shows. Some of my favorites are Versailles, The Crown, The Tudors, Downtown Abby, The Last Kingdom, and Sherlock. I have other favorites like Gilmore Girls, The Originals, Blacklist, Sabrina, Criminal Minds, The Magicians, and Virgin River, I am embarrassed to say, that these are my usual fall backs. I watch them while getting ready in the morning, cooking dinner, walking my laps around the living room- many I have seen two or three times. My youngest still knows to get the chocolate ready when I hit that final episode of Gilmore Girls and Rory tells Lorelai that she is pregnant- and then NOTHING! No follow on! Does she get back with Logan? Does she finally get together with Jess? Do Lorelai and Luke live happily ever after? Years later, this show still bothers me....can I please get some closure?!?!?!?

Robbing Peter to Pay Paul
Research into this story came when my youngest son asked me what a Ponzi scheme was. He is learning about economic in school, and financial questions in my house is a new thing. For example- how does the health care industry work? Why do we pay health insurance and still have to pay medical bills? What is interest and who gets to decide what the interest rate is going to be? Why do we have credit cards? How do you get a mortgage? How does the government know how much taxes to charge and how do you know that you are not paying too much? Now, I know that many of you think that these are simple questions- but go ahead, break it down for a 13-year-old in a way that makes sense. I will wait....

The stars have aligned to make me....me!
My first experience with zodiac signs has to have been reading Seventeen magazine while drinking cherry and coke mixed Slurpee’s at the local 7-11. I remember standing near the cashier flipping straight to the back, fingers crossed that this would be the month that Billy would notice me. Spoiler alert…he never noticed me! But I went faithfully to confirm that was going to be the month that all my dreams would come true. It never really pin-pointed when all my dreams would come true…. but I am sure that at one point it must have said something to that effect. Right?

The first year anniversary of retirement
In less than a week it is my year anniversary of my retirement. I went through the up’s and down’s of becoming a civilian. I was angry. I was humbled. I was lost. I was thrilled on the amount of time that I had on my hands. I was BORED! No one told me about the boredom. I knew that I would have time. Time to cook, to clean, to do chores, to hang out with the family, to watch shows on the T.V. I could be anything that I wanted to be. Be all that you can be….in the civilian world.

My teenager banished me to the dark corner...
It was 7p.m. on a Friday night and I got the pleasure of sitting at Fly Trampoline while my 13-year-old gets to be a teenager. In my 'hey-day', I think the thing to do was go to the local roller-skating rink. There are no roller-skating rinks here in Fairbanks, Alaska...so it is a fun filled night of neon lighting, pounding music, and a bunch of 10–16-year old's jumping on large squares of woven polypropylene material, connected by coiled steel springs in the dark. What can possibly go wrong in this situation?
