asleep, together the Earth's orbit takes a pause resting, all is right.

gently my eyes lift I rise like the sun, in flesh I glow warm with peace
she braids my hair back with a gentle hand and smile the love sisters share
“who cares that you’re good if you could maybe be great?” the light within dims.
I love that we can speak without explanations I find peace in you
your smile turned to fangs and you lunged right for my neck I thought we were friends.
like the rolling tide my hands reach for the shoreline scarred by stones and shells
if eyes are really windows yours are made of painted glass they illuminate me with a glance the colors through me pass -

I give you take I need sleep but am still awake - I offer you receive and come right back I get no reprieve - I lend a hand
I want to live inside a poem a simple place to call my home when the city is too bright and all I want to do is sleep
Now I've never claimed to be a perfect friend but I've always been true, loyal, there to defend and I've never tried to hurt you
In this space nothing is real not the way you dance or the joy I feel we move with grace as if with wings and don’t think to question
