Why the Argument That Biden's Spending Packages Making American Workers Lazy is Meaningless
Are the Stimulus Packages Game Changers or Inflationary? The labor market continues to be tepid, despite the massive and generous stimulus passed by Congress in March. Indeed, the Covid Relief Stimulus Package was said to be the “game changer” as far as the role of the government in the economy was concerned, as the Biden Administration sought to undo decades of limited government that the hallmark of Reagan-ism.

More To It Than Meets The Eye: India's Crackdown on Big Tech
Long considered as an IT (Information Technology) powerhouse, the Indian Government’s crackdown on Big Tech is something of a mystery. From passing new legislation that requires Social Media giants and WhatsApp to “reveal” details and origin information of Facebook Posts, Tweets, and WhatsApp messages, to tightening compliance, and what more, clamping down on Free Speech, the list is long of notable rules and regulations seeking to curb the powers of Big Tech firms.

It is Time to Make Americans Dream Again and Biden is Making the "Right Moves"
For decades, the United States and much of the developing world (especially those nations which are termed “emerging markets”) have followed the Neoliberal Dogma of Free Market Capitalism, by pushing through laws and policies under the assumption that markets work best when left to themselves without much governmental intervention. This line of thought is behind some of the most egregious assaults on Unions, the Working Class, and the Middle Class, who have seen stagnating wages and depleting incomes (in real terms) accompanied by humongous increases in the wealth of the 1% or those who “captured” the gains from the booming economies in the West and in the Asian hemispheres.

China's U Turn to Allow Couples to Have Three Children Wouldn't Amount to Much (sic)
China announced yesterday that it would now permit couples to have three children, up from the two that it specified in 2015, and a marked departure from its longstanding One Child Policy. While the One Child Policy was an attempt to slow down the burgeoning population in the 1950s after the Revolution, and was widely seen as draconian and severe, it was successful in preventing a Demographic Explosion that would have spelled much trouble for a country that was already the most populous in the world.

Living a Losers Life in a Winner Take All World
Look around and you would see that the world celebrates winners and hates losers. Whether they are obscenely rich Oligarchs, whose wealth grows exponentially even during the pandemic, while the rest suffer, or whether they are our Supreme Leaders who are deified and feted and whose every move is recorded for posterity by a fawning media, ever ready to please. We also glorify the Uber successful sports personalities, to the point of worshiping them, and the same goes for our celluloid heroes. Never mind if we they are False Gods and people whose feet is made of clay instead of the Stardust that we suppose they spread.

Staying Sane in Dizzying Times
As the world spirals into a miasma of Uber speed change and accelerated events around us leave us flabbergasted, how do we stay sane when things change by the time one reads this sentence. Indeed, the Pandemic has been the spark that lit the fire of imploding world events. In a manner similar to the humungous number of funeral pyres across the nation, what we are now seeing is a “bonfire of vanities” where hubris is having its comeuppance.

Why Naomi Osaka's Withdrawal from the French Open and Wimbledon Should Wake Us to Workplace Mental Health Issues
Health issues in the Workplace are real and it is time employers, employees, and other stakeholders accept it and address the same. Already, the United Kingdom and France, among other countries have legislation such as the Equality Act which protect employees suffering from depression and other mental health issues. While social stigma and fear of losing one’s job keeps many employees from talking openly about their Mental Condition, supportive employers can make the difference between a stressed out workplace and a healthy workplace.

Are Hybrid Work Models The New Normal? Will They Help Us Navigate the Brave New World of Work in the Post Pandemic Age?
Covid has forced us indoors and companies to adopt Work from Home arrangements. Initially considered a short term measure, organizations worldwide are now contemplating making WFH either permanent or have some sort of mixed or the so-called “Hybrid Work” which is essentially a combination of onsite and remote work. While Tech firms such as Google and Twitter have provided their employees with the option of permanent WFH, others are moving towards a Hybrid model.

Why are So Many 18 to 25 Year Olds Burning Out and Quitting Their Jobs
The Struggling Gen Zers It is not a good time to be a Gen Zer. What with the Pandemic disrupting their lives, just when they were settling into their careers and the tepid pace of the recovery in the jobs market adding to their worries.

With Data As the New Oil, Business Battles Of the Future Would be Fought Over Who Controls Its Flow and Access.
Data is the New Oil. This statement by none other than the Indian Oligarch and Asia’s richest person, Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries, the conglomerate with interests spanning Petrochemicals, Information Technology, Retail and Media, among other things, epitomizes how data has become the new battleground for businesses seeking to acquire, control, disseminate, and profit from it. Indeed, the stupendous success of Big Tech firms such as Google, Facebook, and other social media giants is mainly on account of their superlative “data harvesting” strategies which they employ to good effect.

Moore's Law, Acceleration, and Getting of The Treadmill of Tech Driven, Sisyphean Modern Life
We are Stressed Due to Forced Isolation and Hyperreliance on Tech Most of us feel stressed at some point or the other in our everyday life. While being stressed was part and parcel of humankind since time immemorial, what is different about the times we are living is the “convergence” of Isolationism brought about due to Covid, the excessive reliance on Digital media and the associated gadgets that the Smartphone revolution gave us, and the sheer pace of change that overwhelms us and threatens our mental and physical health.

Is The Covid 19 Pandemic Beginning of The End of The World As We Have Known It?
We are in a truly epochal moment in time with the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic wreaking havoc around the world. While our overburdened healthcare systems struggle to cope with the record waves and surges of the infected, our politicians are clueless and our administrators helpless. On the other hand, the much vaunted private sector has for once, been knocked off its self constructed high pedestal as even they cannot claim that they are “masters of all they survey”.
