The Benjamin in the room
Economics to the layman is often thought of as the study of how people exchange money, taxes, regulation, etc. But the reality is way stranger than that. For one, Economics is more the study of exchange than it is money, in fact, Money as a concept rarely comes up in Economic Formula. I know, Economists rarely talk about Money because money as a concept in Economics isn't included in the formula. For one big reason.

5 Things I've learned over the years as a Business Designer
Although I'm a Socio-Economist by Education. Business Design, structures, and Product design have been my passion and driver for years. I've worked in many businesses over the years and pretty much the only thing that tied them together is that they all sucked. I wanted to give perspective, a unique perspective to business owners on how they could change their businesses to be more efficient, fair, and overall equitable for all involved. I've learned a lot by walking the fringes of the business world, in start-ups and pseudo-corporate businesses. So I want to imbue what advice I can on y'all fine folks who might be designers, engineers, business owners, employees, or just generally interested in this kind of thing.

You're just a prude
It's something I hear anytime the conversation is about Sexuality and I just so happen to mention that I'm Asexual. I get told that I'm just a prude or there's the other crowd that is hell-bent on the idea that we just don't exist and that we haven't "met someone who tickles our fancy yet". Sounds very similar to something that Gay and Lesbian people have been told at some point, Usually by some creepy, older family member.

The Great Modernizers: Gabriel Boric and Volodymyr Zelensky
Volodymyr Zelensky is a Centrist Libertarian and Gabriel Boric is a Libertarian Socialist, with emphasis on the Socialist. Just from that alone, you wouldn't imagine there are many similarities between the two politicians. But there is one big similarity, they both break from the respective norms of their countries. So let's get a good look at these two men, what they stand for, who they represent, and most importantly the historical significance of both men.

Tongue TiedTop Story - March 2022
When I started writing "Mirror Image", I did so to give a pretty vulnerable but honest glimpse into the life of someone on the spectrum, especially a part of most people's everyday life that when it comes to Autistic people, we don't immediately think of them dating. Most people think of an autistic person and immediately think of a non-verbal kid who likes math and/or makes weird noises when they see animals. I know you think of that, and don't worry it's fine. That's what a lot of people have been exposed to, so that's the first image that comes to mind.

I always knew I was a bit weird. Weird isn't something someone volunteers as a descriptor for themselves, they're told they're weird and after a time, you begin to agree with it. But I was weird. I was a very quiet kid, never very much to say, If I did speak it was usually about something I had read or seen on National Geographic. Yeah, I was one of those kids. I had no interest in games, star trek, star wars, etc. There was one channel on my TV at home that I cared about and that was National Geographic. I loved Animals, more than I did most people.

In the wake of the Anti-war Protests in Russia, I want to give a voice to the unheard
As thousands of Russians risk their livelihoods and jail time for protesting against the Invasion of Ukraine, we are starting to see a further crackdown on all oppositional parties in Russia. Starting with the removal of Oppositional parties’ websites, including any English-language press release sites and blogs.

The UK Labour Party is in Denial about Scotland
The Labour Party in the United Kingdom has a long history, the party was founded as a representative of the Working-Class in the United Kingdom, following the kind of Two-party representation system where one party represents “Business” and the other represents the worker. It was founded roughly 50 years after the Chartist movement in the UK reformed the House of Commons making it more representative and much more Democratic. It sought to;

It's never too late to change the world
Looking at today's world you'd be right to be worried about the direction that Society and the wider world is getting into. The tensions in Ukraine, the many governments around the world that seem to be backsliding into Autocratic regimes, conspiracy theories causing perfectly rational people to act in completely irrational ways, LGBTQ+ Rights being reversed or limited, The Right to abortion constantly on threat of being taken away, more and more police violence against minorities and Governments being unveiled as un-ashamedly Corrupt. By no means am I an unbridled optimist, but realistically. All of this is symptoms of a wider issue, we, as a Society don't know where to go next. Most periods of Human history can be marked as revolutionarily changed, something happened, something changed. But what do you change when everything is markedly different from how it was 70 years ago?

Worker-Influenced Corporations: The Model that can Achieve growth and fairness to workers
As I mentioned in my previous article, Equality and Growth aren’t mutually exclusive, governments can run economies that incentivise equality through things like welfare, healthcare, education and workplace policy but Businesses can also run various models that have Equality and Democracy at their core. The most well known is the idea of Co-operatives, Co-operatives are businesses in which, the workers who work in business own equal shares in the business and thus vote on how the business operates. Since they own equal shares, they also get an equal kickback on profits assuming they put a dividend structure in place.

Equality and Competition aren't mutually exclusive
In British media and British Political culture you will often hear Conservatives saying that they would prefer that Britain looked more like America in Growth than Swedish “Equality” but these things aren’t mutually exclusive, in fact they’re myth’s perpetuated by those with the most to gain from an American style Growth model.
