1: Where Do I Begin? This is a follow on from the National Novel Writing Post. In order to write a novel in a month you would have to maintain an output of two thousand words a day. As yet I have not even written that many words this week, let alone today. So last night I thought could I sit down and write two thousand words on the task of writing two thousand words or preparing for a novel. I have distractions, but am going to give it a go. This is not about quality, but entirely about quantity. I know there are people who can sit down, type and not be distracted. I am not one of those creatures. I have my first distraction about a hundred words into this task but will continue this later. It is eight thirty now, fifteen and a half hours left to complete my task!!

Penguins and Guinness
This week for some reason , I came across a Guinness advert that I had either never seen before or I had forgotten about. It started off as a serious nature documentary and was excellently filmed and ended up as an unmistakable Guinness advert. I was sort of aware of it because it was listed on my Song of the Salesman site with a soundtrack of βAccentuate The Positiveβ by The Andrews Sisters and Bing Crosby.

If You Don't Know Where You're Going .... Any Road Will Take You There
This morning is 7 degrees and it's cold it's feels like -4 degrees and you know, sorry, I'm just having a very very brief walk out. I feel less pressure now that I've reduced my daily target from 11000 steps to 7000 steps. Iβve now dropped the million steps and I feel like I can turn around and go back at any time which is good because I'm still walking still going out but it's great when you can do something to remove pressure

Metallica Was Right? - A Personal History of Music Media From The 1950s To Today
My friend Royston posted a link to this blog post from KFMX (Lubbock's Rock Station) about the legacy of illegal downloading. It sums it up in a nutshell. Although I'm in two minds about the grammar , sould it be Metallica Was Right or Metallica Were Right. Anyway this post isn't about grammatical correctness it's about the whole music stealing thing , and where we are at today and why we are here today musically/ It's probably best to do it roughly in temporal order so I'll do it by decades:

Writing While Moving
Iβm am slightly in awe of the way we are becoming a TV watching proletariat. Though thatβs a discussion for another time. I decided to see if I could do a blog bost as I walked and this is the result. I hope my edits manage to make it readable

Vocalising
I do write quite a lot and when I post something on my blog it does really give me great pleasure when someone reads it and comments on it. People for some reason seldom leave comments on the actual posts, probably because they do require identification.

Coincidentally ... Ken Nordine
A couple of days ago on my Instagram #MusicWhileYouWork sequence i shared some of "Stay Awake" a collection of off the wall takes on Disney classics and the opener "Hey Diddle Dee Dee, An Actors Life For Me" from "Pinocchio" featured a spoken rap by someone called Ken Nordine who I was sort of unaware of but I, and you, have probably heard his voice.
