On vacation, Marc was used to it. Tickets were getting more expensive every year, so at least he could spare some shekels and improvise. Pasta, instant soups, breadsticks with sesame and olive oil, cheddar cheese thins, crispbread, tea and coffee pre-prepared in a tumbler. He had to respect money like the state government, even if the flush was to come later. But he couldn't know that now, could he?

Mary didn’t bother to read it, since she only rented the apartment for a week, but she did bother to open the door. She thought it was the woman she had spoken to on the phone the night she arrived, stunned by the duplicated door number.
