As Winter Wanes, Renewal Begins With...
Winter is a time for slowing down, resting, and renewal of the entire being. A time to take a break from the stresses, hurry, and worry of life. If you live in a large metropolitan area, you may not reap the benefits of the longer darkness winter brings. If you work long hours then the rest and renewal of winter may not be yours to experience. There are activities around the house that will help you settle in and gain a bit of extra time for yourself though. This year can be the start of a seasonal regimen that will enable you to experience more of the natural flow of life despite a full work schedule.

I Am Not Prejudice
I never anticipated acquiring a lifelong friend from a class of 9 people attempting to get through a Masters degree in education together. James Starks, Jr. and I met in an industrial complex used as a classroom by Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The classroom was in Riverside, California and the students from many counties in Southern, California. James and I lived in the San Diego area at the time and it was a 2 hour drive. We opted to stay over in Riverside on the weekends we were in school and this is where I met his lovely wife Kathleen.

Sufficient
I've lost track of what living means. All I do is keep myself alive. I get up, feed my pets, put the kettle on, and dash out the door to work. I'm at a loss to figure out how, at my age, I can get off this hamster wheel. Time to make some decisions. The dreams I had as a kid seem to be fantasy. Enough pity party. Coat, shoes, hair combed, teeth brushed, day pack. Check. Off I go!
