Jasmine’s Sticky Fingers
12 year old Jasmine Baker is walking merrily on her way to the local convenient store called Sandy’s Pantry while carrying a small backpack on her back. This is dangerous, but it’s kinda fun, Jasmine thought to herself. We’re low on food at home and mama’s worried sick. Just another day in the projects if you ask me, but we still gotta eat. A police car sits just outside of the store front. Jasmine pays it no mind as she enters the store with a big smile on her face. Inside the store the cashier is at the register talking to one of the police officers with a friendly customer, paying Jasmine no mind as she skips right past them unnoticed.

People Who Inspired Me To Be A Writer: JK Rowling
Around late 1999 my big sister Rudy came home from school one day with a book in her hand. I noticed that there was a boy with glasses who riding what looked like a broomstick on the cover of the book. When I asked her what was the name of the book she was carrying she told me it was called Harry Potter and it’s about a boy who goes to school where he does magic. My first impression of the book was well it sounds like typical kids stuff but I’m not really interested in it. What I didn’t realize was that this book would become one of my favorite stories ever and the woman who wrote it would later become one of my heroes of writing. Her name is JK Rowling and she is an incredible woman who has inspired me as a writer.
