Meet Okilly Dokilly: The Ned Flanders Metal Band
Big fan of The Simpsons, specifically Ned Flanders? Big fan of metal? Well, good news, friend, because there's now a Ned Flanders tribute band called "Okilly Dokilly" out there to fill that need. With songs like "They Warned Me" and "Nothing At All" these guys are really going full force with their Ned Flanders theme. When asked to describe their sound, the frontman had this to say:

These 5 Monsters from the Philippines Will Have You Quaking at the Sheer Thought of Them
Hollywood takes a lot of inspiration from everywhere and anywhere when it comes to scary monsters. Sometimes it's inspired by different cultures and expands on them or dips into pagan themes. With that in mind, I dipped into my own heritage to take a look at the top five monsters I would love to see on the American big screen. All of these monsters stem from memory as a child (because telling your 6-year-old son about stuff like this roaming around is solid parenting), and the ones on this list are the ones that stuck with me the most.

Five 90s Cartoons That Kept Saturdays Action Packed
The 90s were a great time for cartoons, let's be real. They ran the gamut from gritty to silly and even threw in some life lessons here and there. Even though we may not have picked up on it at the time, some 90s cartoons got pretty real (looking at you Hey, Arnold!). Of course, some of them were just action packed visual adventures that gave us a reason to wake up on Saturday morning unless Soul Train was on or something then we went right back to sleep feeling betrayed. There was just something about it that kept us from sleeping in on Saturday so I decided to take a look at some my favorites.

New Mirror's Edge Catalyst Gameplay Trailer Released
I was a big fan of the first Mirror's Edge from the get go. The game itself looked fantastic with its minimalist aesthetic and the parkour element was very well developed. When I heard about another Mirror's Edge coming out, I was more than a little bit excited about it then that excitement tapered off for a while. Until today. This new gameplay footage has me amped all over again. The beginning shows more of the same from the first game (which isn't a bad thing by a long shot) and then stuff gets real crazy towards the tail end. Check out the trailer below!

The 3 People You HATE Watching Movies With
Movies, for some, can be a fun group experience. You go to a movie theater or hang out at home and get lost in a story together. Afterwards, there's probably some talk about the movie followed by copious drinking (or maybe you make a drinking game out of the movie). Sometimes, though, it's better to just watch a movie on your own. Here's three reasons why.

Freddie Wong Talks Shop About Why CG Sucks
Freddie Wong (of Youtube fame) took some time to sit down and talk about CG and the movie industry in his latest video "Why CG Sucks (Except It Doesn't) as part of Rocket Jump Film School. Throughout, he touches on a few things that I personally haven't really thought about with regards to CG. Specifically, it seeks to tackle the notion that CG work is ruining movies as a whole and that we should hearken back to the good old days of practical effects. But should we really?

How Final Fantasy 7 Made Me Fall in Love With Games
With the announcement of a remake of Final Fantasy 7, many long-time gamers were suddenly awash with a mix of nostalgia and slight foaming at the mouth. For many, this was the remake that they've always wanted to happen and while I'm doing my best to curb my own personal hype, I can't help but admit that I'm excited. But why? Why would I be excited about playing a remake of a game? I can't speak for everyone but, for me at least, Final Fantasy VII was the game that really made me fall in love with video games. This is going to get a little gushy so brace for that as I step in a mental time machine and hearken back to middle school.

If You're A StarCraft Fan You'll LOVE 'The Rush'
I'm a little late to the party, but here's one for all the StarCraft fans out there. Most all of us who've played the game have fallen victim to a Zerg rush at one point or another. From a gaming standpoint, it can be pretty annoying and demoralizing. But what if you were actually there? The short film 'The Rush' shows us a glimpse of what it would be like to be caught in terrifying Zerg attack. More than that, it gives us a look at what a Starcraft movie should look like if one ever gets made. Please take notes, Hollywood. If you make a StarCraft movie that looks like this then I will happily give you my money.

The Dark Friendship of Oskar and Eli in "Let the Right One In"
I talked about Oskar a week or two ago and doing that got my mind rolling around about Let the Right One In all over again. It's been years since I've first seen this film and I still think about it every now and again. I suppose that's what makes it one of my most favorite movies. Thinking about Oskar, I obviously had to turn my thoughts to Eli. I made mention in the previous article how I sensed something dark in her friendship with Oskar. Now, I won't deny that there is something sweet about their relationship. They're both people who are invisible for their own reasons who found each other. They bonded over that and their relationship builds from there. However, as I think more Eli and the circumstances around her friendship with Oskar, I can't help think that perhaps there are darker things to come as Oskar and Eli's relationship develop after the end of the movie.

Polish Pranksters SCARE Chris Pratt With Dinosaurs
This video was only uploaded yesterday and it's already gone viral. SA Wadega, the masterminds behind the Spider Dog, decided to capitalize on Jurassic World blowing up by pranking Chris Pratt with a surprise dinosaur attack. Ah, sweet irony. Does this count as irony? I've never been good at figuring that out.

Fallout 4 Collectors Edition Comes with REAL Pip-Boy
During E3 it was announced that the Collector's Edition of Fallout 4 will come with its very own Pip-Boy! You can relive your Wasteland fantasies or round out that Fallout cosplay you've been working on all this time! Right? Well, sort of. It's not so much an actual Pip-Boy as it is a fancy phone case. You place your phone in the Pip-Boy and utilizing the app that will come out at the same time as the game, you can access all the features of the Pip-Boy via the app. Now, even Todd Howard had to admit that it was a bit of a gimmick but he was right in saying that it's one of the best ones.
