While it has its moments, Phase II is ultimately forgettable.
I loved the original Contracted so when I finally had a chance to sit down and watch Phase II, I was excited to see the next chapter in that series. Contracted: Phase II picks up right where the first movie left off with the main character of the first film, Samantha (Najarra Towsend), shown in a quick flashback in her full infected glory. The sequel follows her friend, Riley (Matt Mercer), who was infected by Samantha in the previous movie. While Riley is racing to find a cure, the detective attached to Samantha's case, Crystal Young (Marianna Palka), is attempting to put the pieces together and catch the man responsible for the infection in an effort to contain it before it becomes impossible to stop. However, where the first movie was an engaging and at times horrifying (in a good way), this follow up feels a bit more rushed and doesn't offer the same sense of dread and atmosphere as the first.

We Are Colony: A New Streaming Platform and Netflix Rival That Has Me Nerding Out
There are a lot of media sites out there where you can get your movie fix. Between Netflix, Amazon Prime, Youtube, and even Hulu there's no shortage of website to go for your streaming needs. There is one website, however, that's has me really excited that is definitely worth looking into.

5 Day TV Challenge: A Show I'm Embarrassed To Admit I've Never Seen
Did the picture give it away? It probably did. Have you ever been in a conversation where they're talking about a movie or T.V. show (let's say The Goonies) and the minute you so much as breathe the fact that you've never seen it, you get pounced on with absolute disbelief? "You've never seen The Goonies!? What's wrong with you? How's that even possible?" Well, that's Game of Thrones for me. I've never seen it in the entirety of its existence. I know of it, I know that everyone has somehow seen it despite it being on a network you have to pay extra for.

Cosplayer Lyz Brickley Brings Witcher 3's Ciri to Life
I've followed Lyz Brickley's work for a bit and I've always been impressed by what she creates. My first exposure to her work was her cosplay for Thief and I've been a fan since then. Today, photographer Darshelle Stevens unveiled a photo of Lyz dressed as Ciri from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and, needless to say, I was absolutely blown away by it.

5 Day TV Challenge: A Show I Binged Watched In One Sitting
I've had my moments where I stopped, looked at myself in the mirror and asked: "how did I let it come to this?" That's what happened when I powered through the entirety of From Dusk Till Dawn's first season in a binge-watching frenzy. I'm sure it's because I have an addictive personality because, to be honest, it took me a while to actually get into the show. Admittedly, I've never seen the original movie. My frame of reference for this show was Tumblr and its many GIF sets of this gorgeous woman dancing around with a snake around her shoulders. With that visual in mind, I dove right in.

This Cosplayer Kills It With Easily One of The Best Witcher Cosplays Out There
I'll be honest with you, I'm severely behind on The Witcher series. How behind? Well, I beat the first game handily, I bought the second game when it came out and never actually played it. It's a sin, I know. I just never got around to it. However, Tumblr user Madam-B has inspired me to get caught up with her epic cosplay of Yennefer of Vengerberg.

Freddy & Jason Join Forces In This Hilarious Fan Video
Back in 2003 someone had the idea to put Freddy and Jason in the same movie and just have them go at it. Per the usual, mayhem ensued. But what if instead of trying to out kill each other, they were best friends in high school with Freddy giving Jason advice on how to get the girl of his dreams? Weird, right? Who would do something like that? As it turns out, Lowbarcomedy (awesome name, by the way) did.

Can You Believe It's Been Ten Years Since This Happened?
The Lord of the Rings franchise has spawned a lot of memes of over the years but this little diddy has to be my favorite. Let me set the scene for you. The year was 2005, three years after the release of The Lord to the Rings: The Two Towers (2002). On August 18th of this fateful year, an artist named Erwin Beekveld submitted a video called "They're Taking the Hobbits to Isengard" to Albino Blacksheep (how many of you remember that?) and everything exploded from there.

Music and Action Come Together In This High Impact Kingsman Fan Video
I'm an immense fan of Kingsman: The Sercret Service. I'm also a big fan of its fans. They get real creative with how they show their love from awesome fan art to creative GIF sets on Tumblr. One of those fans is voordel over on youtube and they posted a video way back in June that really caught my eye. If you've haven't seen the movie yet, quick heads up, this clip does have spoilers.

Movies take their inspiration from where they can and no well is more plentiful than just life itself. It's true that there are times when the truth is a lot stranger than fiction. Sometimes the truth is just plain creepy. Here are my top 3 picks for creepy events that inspired pop culture.
