Theatre Kid
I've heard it said that theatre can teach you a lot of life lessons. I'm here to tell you that is absolutely the truth. Though I'm not as active in theatre as I used to be, I can tell you that being in theatre absolutely taught me a lot of lessons that I still use to this day.

Take the Time
"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." - J.R.R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings If you know me, you know that I'm obsessed with the Lord of the Rings. I was introduced to the series by the original trilogy and branched out to the books, the histories, games, and so on.

I Am (Not) An Imposter
During the height of COVID, the game “Among Us” was a favorite game for my students. On the occasion that we all just needed a break, I would play with them. This game involved one player being designated as the “imposter,” charged with subtly murdering the others in the game while avoiding detection by the other players.

Baking
I have many hobbies. Videogames, puzzles, reading. But the hobby that has taken an elevated place in my life is baking. When I was growing up, my mom had a tradition of baking a variety of cookies at Christmas, making baskets, and taking the baskets to the houses of friends and family to visit and share the spirit of the season. As we got older, my three younger siblings and I took over all the baking duties, adding our personal friends to the list and driving around town to visit and share Christmas games and exchange cards.

32
I turn 32 this week. I know that 32 isn't really one of those milestone birthdays like 21, 25, or 30, but hear me out. On my 30th birthday I'd thought of having a celebration of some sort (though I'm terrible about planning such things and always have been). Those ideas went out the window when a close friend passed and her memorial service was on my birthday. I knew that I couldn't just sit around the house and mope, so I invited two of my friends to go to the aquarium and the Cheesecake factory that weekend. But that was the bulk of my celebration, and I was still struggling with grief from the loss.
