Trump's Deception
It is becoming more apparent today that if a person is poor or becomes so impoverished, you are more than likely doomed to a life of misery and desolation. No longer are their avenues of opportunity awaiting behind every door. Even with college degrees in today's society graduates are no longer guaranteed to land living wage jobs in their field of study. There is just not the availability of employment opportunities that even come close to even providing not only employment but living wages. This is one of the most depressing times still for all who need living wage jobs. When there still remains such a vacuum of employment opportunities it becomes a lesson in futility. We can go to any city in any part of the country and find multitudes that are so impoverished. In this day and age it is unconscionable that so many Americans are left so destitute. With Trump leading the way, he has made it possible to usher in deep cuts in our public services. Services that can make a difference so that our citizens won't go hungry, become homeless, or have their utilities cut off through no fault of their own.

Crisis Point
Thinking back to the financial crisis of 2008, one would think that another such economic catastrophe would somehow elude us. It was just ten years ago that the United States plunged the world into the worst financial disaster since the Great Depression. Yet here we are, a decade later, no wiser and even more foolish. You would have thought that we would have learned from our mistakes, but time and time again, history proves that we are still prone to repeat mistakes of the past. When will we ever learn? Today, what we have is déjà vu of the 2008 financial crisis. So what we have now are almost the same set of circumstances that are poised to unleash an economic debacle more sinister and more devastating than the one in 2008. To understand how this is happening, we first have to look at what transpired leading up to the 2008 crash.

The Wheels of Injustice
As the wheels of justice grind to a halt by the powers that be, our society is fast approaching a breaking point. A breaking point from which there is really no return. More children with guns and the willingness to carry out horrific acts of violence have put our way of life in grave jeopardy. Serious questions have to be asked, and yet no one has been asking the right ones. What we should be asking is what has happened to a society which has gone from an era of moralistic virtues where our youth who played with toy guns but respected the danger that real guns posed, to today where our youth are getting hold of semi- and automatic weapons which have no place being available to adults let alone our youth.

Still The Carnage Continues
History is ripe with incidents that reoccur most times through different scenarios but tragically so much of the outcomes remain the same. We are living in an age where we have yet to learn from our mistakes of the past so as not to repeat them in the future. It was in the Capone era in Chicago when the infamous St. Valentines Day massacre occurred. The movie of the same name tried to glamorize the horrific violence that took place that day. So much of Hollywood has succeeded in profiting from movies that showcase mayhem, death, and destruction. Still guided by profits and nothing more they continue to pump out those types of movies. Our society today seems we can't get enough of the shock and aw. It shows with the ticket sales that make millions for the movie studios.

Scapegoat
Throughout history leaders have always tried to put blame on others for their rationale. Whether their ventures were successful or not, the decisions they made affected so many others in ways that seem almost incomprehensible. History is full of incidents where people of authority take great pains to put blame on certain individuals who to no fault of their own did what was required of them. This is especially true in times of great adversity and yet when tragedy struck they are accused and too often convicted through their actions as the cause of that tragedy. It has been proven time and time again these accusers were actually trying to cover-up from their own inefficiency.

That Sinking Feeling
As the winter Olympics take center stage without too much fanfare, the Trump Administration is poised to unleash a budget filled with draconian cuts in just about every safety net there is. These safety nets have had significant success in keeping millions of Americans from falling through the cracks of an already unbalanced society. Yet we have Trump and the rest of the Republicans incapable of hearing the cries of the impoverished multitudes that continue to languish in desperation, hoping for better times ahead.

A Watershed Year
As with the coming of spring, there should be renewed hope that all things blossom by the warmth of the sun. Yet, the clouds of uncertainty hang heavily overhead. We find ourselves being led by a Banana Republic wanna-be dictator. It is without question that the American public were conned by a charlatan who is nothing more than an narcissistic egomaniac with delusions of grandeur. Trump has made a mockery of the office of the Presidency. Not to mention has turned the United States upside down with his rendition of public office. Still, we have members of Congress that are incapable of recognizing how really dangerous President Trump is.

Coverup
They have always said that history repeats. As the United States continues to fall into disgrace with Trumpism being the order of the day it should come to no surprise to begin to see the similarities of what took place in Germany in the 1930s and what is taking place today. By order or decree Trump and the Republicans have already set in motion and by design directives that will be one of the most insidious objectives our government has planned in our nations history.

Education and Morality
Education: Where would society be if there wasn't a system of education in place to provide the nurturing of the mind as well as the body so that any individual will be able to have the availability to gain the knowledge and the background necessary to succeed in life? A Democratic society's existence is solely dependent on the education of all the population. Our Democratic Republic can only succeed and thrive when there is a certain degree of excellence within in the educational systems that are in place. For, without an educated society, civilizations will revert back to the cave of the Neanderthal. The book The Lord Of The Flies is a great description of what happens when there is one definitive order or no laws of civility embedded in the minds of youth; a prime example of what happens when the education of a society no longer is justified as being essential but is directed toward a self-preserving role of rule.

Inside Out
Is it too late to say you're sorry America? When Ben Franklin stated when asked what kind of government was created, his reply was "a republic if you can keep it." Profound, yes, and yet all indications today point that we have lost sight of what Ben Franklin said. When government becomes to self-serving in a way that is counter-productive for the greater good of all, that government ceases to be democratic. And, like Ben Franklin has said over 250 years ago ,"if you can keep it," somehow over the course of six decades, we have lost the democracy out of our government.

Against All Odds
Throughout history it has been proven that where there is acute poverty there is corruption in governments. Where there is corruption in governments there is only a perpetuating vicious cycle of economic depravation within that society. In recognizing this fact, it is a beginning to fuel the resources that are needed for solving man's afflictions that are the cause of the most acute crisis of the 21st century.
