The Giver
In my family, growing up, I was always the mediator, the caregiver, the nurturer. Everyone, including my parents, came to me for comfort, minor ailment assistance, or help in communicating with others. I was always a “mini-adult” with very little time or opportunity to simply be a child. As I grew, these roles only grew with me.

The New World
The fantasy world created by the late Terry Goodkind, in his Sword of Truth series, is the best fantasy world that exists. The author describes in a way that makes it seem like a real place, but gives no indications of where exactly in our world it could be located. It’s a very large world, with characters as real as you and me. In each book, I’m right there with the main characters, made real to me by vivid descriptions, and a cause I can believe – and fight for alongside them.

Sew Happy
Sewing is one of my hobbies. I’ve always loved to create my own patterns more than following one, and making medieval clothing is of particular interest to me. I have made many dresses, tunics, pants, cloaks, and even jewelry and corsets. I used to be very active in a medieval reenactment group, and this skill came in very handy for that. I am happy to sew things that are a challenge.

Thank you, Mother.
When most people think of “mom,” I think they envision a maternal figure full of warmth, caring, and loving commitment, whether they think of a biological mom, or someone who stepped up to fill those shoes in a time of need. Most of us try to be that ideal mom, giving our children (or the children of the world) the best chance to grow up happy, healthy, and loved. We use days like Mother’s Day to honor the women who have loved us and helped to shape our lives. I believe that mothers are worthy of honor, even those mothers who maybe weren’t the ideal, because no matter what kind of mothers they have been, we have managed to learn from them. Sometimes what we learn is what not to do with our own children… My story is a little different from many others, yet I still want to honor my mother for the contributions she made in my own journey to becoming a Boss Mom.
